ride too hard and noisy

new to forum. 2014 e63 s 4matic sedan. crazy love the car and all it brings. just finding the ride too hard and a lot of road noise for anything but short rides. i have p-zero's. checked tire rack for better riding and quieter tires. many better than the p-zero's looking at conti dws06. not freely giving up performance but prepared to give up some for a more pleasant cruise... anyone with suggestions?

First question - how much tread do you have left? They get noiser on their last safe 1000 miles

I have the oem wheels and don't find them noisy but yes it's a firm ride and I like cruising in s+

It's ok to get softer quieter tires and unless you're tracking the car you won't notice a huge difference even with spirited driving

Also if your alignment is off it can be noisier

Here's a pic of my Conti DWS. New rears are going on this weekend. But even worn past the tread wear indicator, they are still relatively quiet.

no MBs at the moment :(
I don't find the ride too hard compared to other sporty sedans I've owned, but the road noise is surprisingly high. It's louder than my 2015 S4 and almost as loud as my 2009 M3, which both had stock 19" wheels as well. It unfortunately makes having the B&O (vs stock) pointless at freeway speeds.

Ya, I'd think about trying the Conti w06 tires you mentioned. That will be my next tire. Currently I have the Bridgestone Pole Positions which are a great performance tire but ride not so good and do generate some tire noise especially as they wear. I don't drive my car in New England anymore as where I live here the roads are so bad and the car does not like bad road surfaces. In Florida it's fine though. You don't have to worry about off the line traction as much as I do though as you have AWD and I have just RWD as mine is a 2012. I'm hoping when I switch to the Conti tires when the Bridgestones are worn out in about a year it does not hurt my off the line traction too much.

Off the line traction......from a stop light?? Are you planning on getting pole position, or what?

My p zeros were getting bald in the rear so I just put a new set of 19" Michelin AS3+ front and rear and I love em for daily usage. 2 weeks now. Mickey Thompson on order for my 18's for traction

So if you nail it off the line with the AS3's and traction off do they light up real bad? With my Pole Positions they will spin some but not real bad, it really seems to depend on the asphalt surface type. I'm thinking I might get a far better more quiet ride with the all seasons and they should wear a lot longer as the wear rating is double that of most summer only tires. The Pole positions need to be replaced about every year and a half, or 14K miles.

If I nail it they will spin for sure! I don't think there is a 19" tire out there that will dead hook on the street. The amount of slip is acceptable tho considering all the other benefits. The car still goes forward pretty quickly. Keep in mind my car also had a EC tune.

The comfort setting is good but I find the sport setting to be a bit stiff for long drives. My tires are good and my commute is 100 miles long trip so I know good comfort. If you are running comfort and still find it too bumpy and noisy I'd have to say the culprit are your tires from seeing the picture above.

The more I think about it I dunno if the all seasons like the conti w06 or the michelin AS3's are gonna cut it with RWD, maybe AWD, but not RWD Cars, just too much power going to only 2 wheels. I'm probably best off keeping performance Summer tires on my 2012 AMG wagon. I may switch over to the Michelins Super Sports next time around. Probably shoulda gone with those from the start, would have had a better ride and hooked up just as good or better than with the Bridgestone Pole Positions I currently have. I've just had a real problem in getting the SS tires in the past, they always seem to be out of stock on my size for some reason.
