i'm certainly not the expert here, but, transfer case preservation is important in the awd cars. they are both fast, and awd hooks like crazy.
i'm happy with the results, as was Jerry. car is much stronger than before; let's not worry about the absolute numbers for now. will go to track and we'll all find out together what the 100 octane tune does on prepped track

I will run 100 octane until injection kit installed. Then will run 93 with 50/50 meth/water mix using smallest nozzle. Did this retune to take better advantage of the octane boost of the meth, but didn't want to fully commit to tuning at the extreme for the meth injection.

Previous best is 11.53 @ 127.3x mph. Can't seem to break 11.5 with my bad 60ft times. Started with traps at 122 and with fuel and tune changes traps are now in 127s consistently. Will see soon what some extra upper range torque and HP will do for me.
Weistec meth injection kit shipped yesterday so should be here soon. AEM is out of nozzles so that will be another week or so, but will get everything else installed.
Will likely get to track before kit install.

also the 60 ft, is that just tires spinning or not using good launch methods?
consistent 127-128 mph traps on just 93 octane tune would be sweeeet

im still curious to know if before when you got 127mph traps, if those would of been reached with just 93 octane, or if the stage 2 tune adjusted to more power with the mix of 100. Did you find out?

.... Prob both on the 60 ft question.

Sorry man. Long day out there....Forgot to ask. You can probably ask Jerry. My personal experience on other tunes (not EC cuz didn't try 93) is that, yes, ecu will adjust for higher octane....Was likely pulling timing at 93 octane and the higher octane allowed for proper combustion and full/more power.
.... Prob both on the 60 ft question.

A bit disapponting considering how much power it makes, I was hoping it would do better. Maybe with some cooler weather I can still pull off a 127+ on 94 octane, I need to test this already.

i see, so probably the stage 2 tune on just 93 is giving consistent 126mph traps, even with the addition of catless dp.

one more thing, I'm wondering if the fact that you weren't launching well was possibly slowing you down on the traps?
11.5 is the same as the best ET for a stock car, so something is up. If the launch can be sorted out and be down to 11.0-11.3 tops (where it really should be considering the power you have) it's very possible you would of gotten better than 127mph traps. Let's hope the new tires and maybe trying to launch without brake boost will show some improvement.

if I wanted the fastest car on the track or street certainly wouldn't be this one.
But yeah, I'm still learning for sure on how to run this thing.

Yup it's definitely not as easy as something like the RS7 where you just mash it simply and it launches like a missile from a dig that's for sure.
Then again while audi is great from a dig or dag strip I find amg is more fun once up to a higher speed so always a trade off.
No doubt the hot weather is hurting your times and with it cooler you will pick up better. I wouldn't be surprised if you got 128-129 on a cooler day with your power.
Good luck buddy!

for sure. It's all in good fun.
Thx!

Alright. We are definitely making new power. Runs in chronological order; last three consistent 128.xx trap speeds. Still stuck at 11.5x ET, but did log this time. We'll review and see what's up.
First four runs were against an Audi R8 Plus with exhaust (super sweet car & fast!).
100 octane fuel; no meth/water yet.

Its bogging so hard off the launch it seems. Post the logs! Even using RS it should cut better 60' than that with a tune unless its spinning that bad. Have you checked your motor mounts? Sometimes will cause Knock on the launch pulling timing from hitting exhaust. Just some thoughts

I've been the strip twice, good tires or not, I can't get 60' under 1.83. Consistently trapping 126 though. There's nothing I can do to get the 60' in the 1.6 or even 1.7 range.

Are you still brake boosting?
i think if you just hit the gas off idle you will pull a better time.

No I didn't try with traction fully off, I was told that just causes the rears to spin. I had traction in sport, and used Race start. Also tried brake boosting on launch with TC in sport, and it was slower than using race start. TC fully off seems slower the few times i've tried it on the street.

are you in S+ instead of S ? I read somewhere S+ revs 200 rpm higher and shifts 20% faster

1) hit gas off idle with TC fully off
and
2) hit gas off idle with TC in sport mode.
You never tried this simple way to launch it?

Yes all runs were in S+. I've tried every way of launching except with TC full off, bc that just causes the rears to spin on launch... If someone has gotten 60' in the 1.6 range with this car I'd like to see it.

here's the technique ams used to get 1.62 60ft.. looks like s+ with TC on (though hard to tell from angle of dash)... one thing that is weird is the "s+" indication in the dash is in Yellow while mine is always in red so not sure what that means

I've seen that video before, but doubt their TC was on it would cut power on launch and bog, this was probably with TC in sport mode, without race start. And the yellow color might just be because of the video. Might have to try some with TC full off, and just brake boosting.

TC was not in sport... sport TC indicator shows on left side of right gauge so it would of been seen... either had to be TC fully off or on
