2016 E63S Clicking Sound - Help!!!!
I have a problem with my 2016 E63S AMG and I'm really hoping there's someone on this forum that can lend a hand.
My car has 10k KM's and has made a clicking sound since new, but has gotten progressively worse as the car was broken in. This clicking sound is very noticeable in the cabin. It only comes about between 40km/h and 60km/h, only when accelerating normally. Off the gas - no clicking. Not between 40km/hr-60km/hr - no clicking.
I've uploaded a couple of cell phone videos to youtube. You might have to turn up the volume a bit, but you can definitely hear the clicking clearly. Here's the links:
Honestly, the most frustrating thing is my Mercedes dealership and how I'm getting dicked around. They had the car in, didn't find anything, and I haven't got a response back after a couple of additional inquiries. Very frustrating. You'd figure I'd be getting better service considering I spent $125k on this car.
I figure before I inquire with them any further I'd throw this out on this forum and it's user base to see if anyone has any type of insight that might be able to help me out. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Cheers,
Marshall
It could be driveline related (driveshaft-diffs).
No vibrations?
Buy a GoPro and place it underneath and record a test drive.
All Benz dealers have a great integrity. No matter if you buy an A-Class or S-Class, they treat you in the same lame way.

rightfully so, you could say i was surprised when it happened and I knew for a fact it was coming from the car , as there were no external sources to produce such a sound

You saved me time capturing it on video, and I always feel it comes from passenger side, as you showed in video 2, but i must say mine has not happened for a while now, and I can not always get it to replicate.
I recall someone telling me once it might be the direct injection system sound

.Let me know what you find out please and Ill see from my end

how do you get yours to produce its self?
from my memory it happens when costing, while foot of the gas, maybe a little wheel turn, but as i said has not happened in a long time

As I said, have not heard it for a long time, but just in case it shows its self

Thanks

Suddenly concerned about the longevity of the non-engine in this car!
Did you ever get it resolved?
I actually have this noise too. ONLY happens when car is cold in morning, and its only between 20-40MPH.
It sounds exactly like both your videos. Inside the car it kinda sounds like a fan spinning/hitting against something if that makes sense.
would like to get this fixed too. Only happens for maybe 30 seconds.
If this is a known issue please provide more info so we don't have to waste time explaining it to the service dept and having them try to figure it out. It is really driving me nuts every time I drive the car so it would be great to get it fixed.
They replaced the drive shaft, and shaft bearing, but that didn't correct it. They ended up having to adjust the angle of the driveshaft, and finally the noise went away.

Do you know if it was rubbing up against something on the car, or against itself somehow?
On my car it seems to be more audible when decelerating between 30 and 40 MPH and definitely seems to be coming from the front passenger side of the car.
Left my car at dealer for a couple of nights so that I could come back and drive it with the shop foreman. Murphy's Law and of course I could replicate it with him in the car.
He listened to the videos I've made and said he'd go down the route of replacing the hanger bearing after he double checked some things himself.
Will provide another update when I have more info.
