Is it normal to have to add 1 quart of oil between services. I have a 2012 E63 with about 34k miles, and the message popped up to add 1 quart of oil. Just wondering if others have experienced the same thing. Is it something I should get checked out? Thanks

My '14 burns a quart every 3,000 miles, but it is still "new" with only 6,XXX miles on the odo.

edit: Let me rephrase: In the 3,000 miles I have put on the motor, it has burned a quart.

HP engines do use oil. This is normal. However, using a quart every 800 miles or less is not normal.

using one quart every 600 miles is very normal. read engine allowances.

High performance motor, turbos, and 0 weight oil are a recipe for oil consumption.

The turbos can also burn oil, and more likely to with age.

Strange my 2012 E63 wagon has not gone down in the oil level at all between oil 10K oil changes and the car currently has 50K miles on it, I check it every 2K miles, I must have got a freak car, lol. I'm not complaining.
