KW HAS lowering kit issues, Vendors/members please help!

HI everyone,

So I'm having a huge issue with the KW HAS kit and was wondering if anyone may be able to help me.

In summary:

-I have an E63S 4matic and had my shop order the KW HAS kit for my car from their supplier.

-Kit arrives, part # 253 25 044 and it's installed

-Upon install I noticed that the car hasn't lowered as much as others with the same kit. The install was double checked and the perches are in fact at the lowest possible setting.

-The supplier was contacted and got in touch with KW North America who then confirmed that the part # is correct and blame the install.

-Tech who installed the kit is requested to call KW to go over install, install was done correctly.

-At this point I'm stumped and trying to figure out what's going on...

-After some time contacting MBworld vendors and other members with the kit, I come to find out that the part # installed on my car is indeed not correct. Correct # is 253 25 071

-Again the supplier and KW are contacted with my findings

-Supplier contacts KW and after about a week of waiting KW finally confirms that the part # that I gave the supplier is ACTUALLY the right # for my car and the one currently installed is for the 10-13 E63 RWD

-KW then tells my supplier that the only difference between the 2 kits are the perches and they will get pricing/availability for them and have them shipped out.

-I ask the supplier to confirm that the ONLY difference is in the perches before ordering them.

-Supplier contacts KW again and is now told the the perches are actually the same and the springs are different. Supplier talks to 2-3 KW reps and all 3 confirm the above.

-New springs are then ordered.

-3 weeks later they arrived and today I have them installed.

NO DIFFERENCE, the part # on the new springs are different from what was previously installed but the hieght of the car remains unchanged.

At this point I'm beyond frustrated and am posting to see if anyone could possibly help me figure out what's going on!

Vendors if you have both my part #s in stock, can you confirm that the perches are the same for both part #s?

Are you having a problem with just the front? Or front and rear? Rear is just the links so I assume you're good there?

I would assume you just have to wait until sprigs settle. I faced same problem , and it took time until they dropped.

Yes, issue is just with the front. Rears are perfect

What is your FTG measurement?

At the lowest setting you should most definitely see a difference in height. I'm not at the lowest setting and measure 66 cm FTG. Stock was 69 or so.

KW don't provide as much of a drop as others and are listed to provide 15-35 mm in the front.

Thanks Martin, I will take a measurement to compare.

KW25325071 is the correct part number for 4matic cars. I have the same kit and it's definitely much lower than stock.

If everything is spun down, then yes something isn't right.

OP. Ask your KW provider who should be an authorized dealer to uninstall the current system and install the correct system. RWD and AWD is a different setup.

Yes we have checked and double checked the perches and they are as low as they go. Since the new springs now installed are the right ones(according to kw/supplier). There has to be a slight difference in the perches as well. I'm having no luck getting this msg conveyed to supplier/kw, both don't seem to want to fix this issue and am leaving me to deal with this problem on my own...

I'll try my luck with kw customer service and see where it goes.

Had the kit installed last week along with many other things, here are some pictures. Actually had to raise the height front and back as the lowest settings were too low. KW HAS lowering kit issues, Vendors/members please help!-img_4640.jpg

Thank you for the above pics. Are those at the lowest setting front? You don't happen to have a fender to ground measurement?

if they don't resolve it just slap on the H&R with the stock struts - thats what i have - the car is low and stiff on 20's but looks great - no rubbing - no nothing

26" in front 26 1/4" in back. I'm going to do 26 1/4" on all four corners. The front tends to bottom out on big dips in the road. I had the original wheels powder coated and have 5mm
spacers in the front and 12.5mm in the rears.

So here's an update.

- My shop got a hold of KW directly
- KW confirms new springs are correct.
- however this tech states that the perches and screw collars are also different...
- shop gets a hold of supplier and new perches/screw collars are ordered.
- 3 week wait for parts.

So once these come in I will have them installed and hopefully this nightmare will be over.
