Anyone else notice harsh shifts on their E63S? I've driven a few and they all seem to shift like the trans is going to fall out the car at wide open throttle

are these driven in s or s+?
are these cars tuned?

My car shifts perfectly at wot in c,s, s+ and definitely not the way you described.

are you also referring to the audible bark with each shift? That's intended btw

I know a thing or two about harsh shifting

if you're bored google "peterubers mbworld rough" and "peterubers mbworld replacement"

enjoy

S+ and tuned. How many mikes are on your car and is it tuned 14+?

Not the audible bark. You can feel it shift almost violently.

Pre and pos tune.

2nd and 3rd gears are the harshest ones.

I took my car in a month or so ago for something else, but asked about the lag I was experiencing (from a stop). They installed some updated tranny software. Since then, I have noticed some harsh shifts. I drive in S+ about 99% of the time, so unsure if it does it in other modes. Before the update, I never experienced a harsh 2-3 shift (or other).

So the hard shifts started after an update? Hmmmm... Sounds like a heck of an update.

I purchased my car from another forum member, it has the Weistec W3`s , downpipes & bulletproof tranny installed and shifted pretty hard but uber fast, we adjusted the throttle response and it alot more like stock in its smoothness now.

at WOT even the standard car with a tune is hard like a nascar. pretty normal by what i have seen.

are you experiencing the harsh upshifts from 2nd and 3rd?

in Sport+ mode i absolutely get harsh down shifts from 4th to 3rd to 2nd and just thought that was normal for Sport+....dont get harsh down shifts like that in Comfort trans mode and its less noticeable in Sport trans mode. not sure what is normal as I've only driven my 15 E63.

Did anyone ever find a solution to this? I’m experiencing a very rough 1-2 shift at full throttle in sport+. The 2-3 shift is slightly aggressive but feels as designed. My car does have an ecu tune.

Is this by design or is there an issue?

I had super hard shifting in S+. It was fixed when I got my TCU tune.
