Picture Inside trunk, under rear deck lid?

Hi all,

I have a bit of a strange request. Does anyone happen to have, or is willing to take, a picture of the underside of the rear deck lid through the trunk?

I've recently purchased a 16 e63s, and I have neither the bose, nor the comfort box (which is on its way) but I have no liner/cover under the rear deck lid and I can't imagine that a car of this calibre is bare metal and wires, open to the air and any objects that may jump around in the trunk?

Thanks!

Same thing on my w218 cls, painted metal above the comfort box and subwoofer amplifier behind it. A bit strange but normal.

Bucktown - yeah same here with my 15 E63S... thought something was missed in the CPO process and I actually took it back to the dealer complaining that it was missing a cover but they showed me a couple other E63s and clearly they dont cover up that area of the trunk/electronics. looks like crap to me... are you in Bucktown/Chicago??

E63S

Hi all. I think I am in the same boat. Just bought a 2015 E63S and noticed the same thing ie a black rectangular shaped box suspended under the parcel shelf with lots of exposed wiring. I thought something to do with the rear blind? Looks to be missing a plastic cover. I noticed it when a bag I had put in the boot got caught on some of the exposed wires. Have already been in touch with dealer (this too is a Certified MB purchase), still to hear back.
And then yesterday the “Auxiliary Battery Malfunction” message came up. Not had the car a week yet!!!

Thanks for the replies. Good to know that the bare area under the parcel shelf is normal, if not a little strange to be that way from the factory. Looking forward to getting the comfort box!

And no, I'm located north of the imaginary line in Canada. Bucktown is a nickname from a basketball team that has stuck with me over the years.
