I am running 295/30 rear, it is actually closer in over all diameter to the front 255/35. No spacers on factory wheels tires are PS4's .

Why won't these places mount your tires? Just curious. I have always purchased my tires from a local tire shop. They have competitive pricing (to internet sellers) and price includes mounting and balancing and tire disposal fee.

so I ordered Tires from tire tack always and then take em to Costco they usually charge 15 bucks per tire mount n balance they full it up with nitrogen 60 bucks all 4 best price in market. But since I m changing size from 285 to 295 on my e class they r being very picky oh we don’t want to b responsible etc etc I told them my car my choice but they just don’t wana do it. Same thing when I went to good year spot. These r only two shops I know they use nitrogen air in tires.

Got ya! I guess no one wants to be held accountable should anything go wrong. Good luck finding someone with nitrogen that will install your tires.

Will there be any rubbing with 295s and 5mm spacers in the rear? I have 7mm and 5mm spacers that I have to use for my winter wheel setup that looks really flush. So, when I put my stock summers on it looks odd to me. Thinking of putting my 7mm in the front and 5mm in the rear and also plan on buying the PS4s in a couple of weeks. Wondering if I will have any issues and I am not that savvy with these calculations. Also plan on buying 35mm lugs.

Thank you!

Dan

The do make a 285/35/19, however, a 295/30/19 is closer to the same diameter as the front 255/35/19.

Diameters:
255/35/19 = 26.03'' (Front)
285/35/19 = 26.85'' (Rear)
295/30/19 = 25.97'' (Rear)

So, the 285 is 3/4''+ large in diameter (not sure if this will cause an issue with sensors in 4matic with this size difference, but might).

The 295 is only .06'' different and won't cause a problem and is actually "better" in terms of sizing as you want the front and rear to be as close as possible in diamter.

In my opinion, the correct sizes of the Michelin PS4S to run on these cars are 255/35/19F and 295/30/19R. Stock heights you will be fine as the 295 is just over 1/4'' wider than the stock 285 size.

Hi , Thanks for the nice explanation, can you clear one thing up ? You are comparing a 285/35-19 to a 295/30-19 , the stock rear on the E63s is 285/30 -19
so are your dimensions accurate, Thanks

^Sure.

In your post (post #8) you mentioned 285/35 which is why I brought it up.

Michelin makes a 285/35/19. They do not make a 285/30/19.

The dimensions I listed above are all accurate to what is listed there.

The OEM 285/30/19 diameter is 25.73''

Thanks I appreciate it , I was thinking on post 8 the 285/35 was stock size that’s were I got confused,
It’s funny I was washing the car today and did notice the rear tire is smaller than the front in height , it must look better with the 295/30 -19 also , thanks again for clearing that up

No problem.

Once I run through the OEM pzeros (which are garbage in my opinion) I am getting the ps4s in the 255/35/19 and 295/30/19 sizes.

Thanks, I didn't think there would be rubbing with 5mm spacers and the 295s I just wanted to make sure.

Can you find a shop to mount them w/o nitrogen then take the car to Costco and have them refill with N2

E63s is 9.5x19 rear. Wondering how that fits. Specs say to use a 10" well minimum.

That's what I wanted to know. I'm thinking same rims and tire set up. Looks good! Any tire rubs or anything from wider tires/rims? How's the handling? Performance? any issues? are the PS$ quieter than the Pirelli's?

No rubbing at all. Stock height, quiet and good handling tire. The front tire curves in a bit on the 9.5 inch rim the rear seems to fit more square.

The best or nothing
Go to willtheyfit.com .. you can calculate the difference between 285/30 and 295/30 and you will see it's below 1%, that means the 295/30 is only 3mm higher. That's the only difference. The tolerance is 3% so you will be fine without issues ..
PS4S are great! What an amazing upgrade from stock Pirelli P Zero.

Ok, so to be clear, please...285's on a 10" rim will not rub in the back (on stock STAR lowered suspension)?

I ordered some Forgestars 19 x 8.5 +28 F and 19 x 10 +35 R

The wheel company recommended a 245/35 F and 275/35 R tire combo...but that will result in the rear tire having a slightly larger overall diameter...

so I ordered Michelin PSS 245/35 F and 285/30 R which have identical overall diameter of 25.8"

TireRack also called me to verify the size since it's not what they recommend....

I just want to be sure they won't rub before I confirm the order.

Thanks in advance.
