What is your oil temp under normal driving conditions
As the title says, what oil temps do you see in stop and go traffic after 20-30 of driving? I’m a bit concerned as the oil temp on my car ranges 210F-220F. Outside temps are 45-55.

My oil temp seems to stay with + / - 10 degrees of coolant temp once all warmed up. If I drive in boost for a bit oil temp creeps up quick 225+ easy.

My Coolant temp is always around 199F and Oil Temp is anywhere from 199F to 225F depending on driving style. But always comes back down after a few minutes of "Comfort Mode Driving".

Thank You for yhe replies! I’m curious because over the winter when I would take long drives, my oil temp would go bellow 160F. And now its always above 210. I’m also under the impression that the oil temp would always be around the 200F mark last year.

Would deff have that checked ! Could be bad thermostat or sensor ? Those readings are not normal.

Mine does the same thing I’ve been driving for an hour and a half and under cruising it will go into the blue, below 176, had put in for thermostats to no avail, under warranty of course, then they said it is normal. I have written various blogs on this, if that’s the right word? As I’ve said before I have been aMercedes mechanic/exotic car mechanic for 35 years, racecars professionally and I don’t understand why the system is not working properly, lost a lot of sleep on it and now I’m trying not to worry about it it appears they all do that at least the 14s and 15‘s and 16 and then one of my buddies at the dealer tested and 18 out he said it did the same thing. I did see one of these motors a part at 120,000 miles and it looked as new quite beautiful and impressive I would be curious of what your dealer says about it.

Quick drive back from the dealer today - it was at temp, 197/197 when I picked it up, so dropped it into Sport mode, pulled out on short section of freeway, hit it
, got it to 207/197 then it cooled off on the secondary roads. Less than 10 minute drive.

Out of curiosity how long does it take your e63 to get the oil out of the blue and up to temp?
Picked up a 2015 e63S and it takes about 3 times as long as my 2015 C63 does to get the oil warmed up.
Suspect it is an issue with the sensor or thermostat.

Thanks.
With 85+F temps, it still takes almost 15 minutes to get up to temp, versus my C63 which would be warm in around 5 minutes in the same weather. I drive the same route every morning and it makes it pretty easy to get a sense of when it would have been warm in the past.
