0-100 mph Times, Stock and Tuned

I just had the VBOX tell me I hit another 3.3 0-60 but I only hit 100 at 7.8 during the same run. 7.8 seems off to me. 4.5 seconds to get from 60-100? I was floored the whole run in S+. It felt like I was moving pretty good. I actually never did a 0-100 before the tune. I can I guess by just swapping my ECU's.
Is this 7.8 time jacked up? I never really followed this parameter much.
I realize that drag is a squared function of velocity. But these cars don't have a lot of drag. Just seems slow to me. But I don't know for sure.
you need to take that car to the track vrod
the stock e63S is 8.0 to 100mph so not too far off your pace but 0.2 seconds is about a car length right at 100mph?
also what altitude are you?

The road I was on may not have been flat either. Track would be good. And I am at sea level btw. I may try a couplemore times too. I tried to quit throttle right at the 100 mark on speedo. Maybe I let off a bit early.
Another review I found online similar to yours above had a 2012 0-100 at 7.7 and it was stock. So that had me concerned until I saw your post.

I found the perfect very low traffic section on a 4 lane expressway to do my runs. It might be just a bit too short though for a full 1/4 mile run. I was able to get these nice times though yesterday afternoon with the following parameters:
Traction off
AC off
Windows up
S+ mode all the way
Suspension at double bars
3k rpm brake boost
tires at standard pressure
no passengers
With these settings I was able to spin all 4 wheels for the first time for about 1/2 to 1 second (quite audible) and still got these numbers:
Turns out the 2017 Hellcat does 0-100 in 7.2. So it looks like I'm in some good company. The AMS tune is VERY REAL GENTLEMEN!

FYI I have a Eurocharged tune on my 2011 through the OBD port. I know they make good stuff. However, they badly dropped the ball on me when the flashing stopped working and I have been stuck with stock profile. I tried more than once, even sent them a youtube video showing them how it was not working properly anymore. Someone ther named Solomon said they would straighten in out. Then they went quiet. So I went with AMS this time. Both reputable tunes. However, the follow up customer service from them didn't sit well with me. And I don't care a lot about the 2011 tune problem as I am selling her to some VERY LUCKY person and if selling it should be stock anyway.
Enjoy your fast car!

This is the best answer I have fellas.
Cheers.
The 70/30 fixed split AWD will always be slower than a variable AWD system from a dig (HP and weight being reasonably close). The W213 has had the launch/TCU algorithm improved over the W212, so goes to show it can launch better than a tuned AWD W212.
All this to mean if you can launch anywhere near as well as the W213 with your tuned W212, you will quickly reel it in and pass it up well before the 1/8th mile. Gets worse for the W213 on a roll.
Also, a tuned W213 is not showing to be significantly more powerful than the tuned W212 (W213 has ~20 WHP more but some 50-50 WTQ less except with Eurocharged tune). Only one vendor has shown power and track times that is in the mid-10s. Most are in the high 10s (like the tuned W212s). The W213 is the dream car (between the two) to leave stock cos there is little to be gained from tuning it as far as raw track times go.
Now let us compare to the competition.....RS7 are not running much faster, but they can certainly out launch either AMGs. M5s will be the ones to watch..... too new to tell right now

I enjoyed reading your post. Thanks a lot. If everything you say is accurate, I am feeling pretty good with my decision to buy the 2015 and tune it versus buying the 2018. Also, I was just having difficulty with a 4 litre motor. I am a bit more old school that really believes in no replacement for displacement.
Also based on the displacement, I felt the gains from tuning would be reduced in that motor vs the M157. Stuttgart is already getting a cr*p load of power out of that 4.0 litre. Again if you are on point here, you confirmed my assumptions.
Cheers!
Tune only 18 e63 are going mid tens.
The motor has a hot v configuration, nano coated cylinder walls etc etc etc. turbo upgrades would take a few hours.
Should be way easier to work on.
I also have a w212 e63s but there no illusion in any form that my car is better than the latest edition.

I am told by FFTEC ( an AMS partner out here in the Bay Area) that you can't really do a pre and post dyno the same day. They suggest to me that I bring the car in with the tuned ECU first do the 5 pulls for $150. and then come back a different day after getting at least one full "drive cycle" on the original ECU. They say that the numbers will not be correct if the ECU has not registered some minimum amount of time being driven.
My thinking was that they are just trying to get paid twice. But after looking a bit more into it, it sounds legit. The extra $150 to run the stock ECU isn't that big of a deal. But the 35 mile drive and time there is a bit of a headache. Ugh. But I am scheduled to at least get the tuned ecu dyno'd in a few weeks! I will post results after I get them.
Side note: I am scheduled to take the car in to the dealer for some minor warranty fixes tomorrow so I put the stock ecu back in it yesterday. There is NO DOUBT that the tuned ecu is way more powerful! Car feels slow now. lol
