Jacking the car - airmatic - is there a way to "lock" it?

Quick question , and I have done a search.

When jacking up other air suspension cars (Audi for ex) there is a setting that locks the air suspension to allow the work without the air suspension counteracting it.

For our cars - what to do? I found in my search that leaving a door open alleviates the outcome, but is there a way to prepare the car for jacking?

Thank you in advance.

Just jack it up. No settings to change or worry about on MB

OK - thank you. I read about people having issues with the car being sunk down after swapping wheels, etc.
Appreciate the advice!

In general, if a door or the hood/trunk is open, it won't adjust for risk of injury. There isn't a way to "disable" it like some cars have though, although supposedly, the control unit is smart enough to realize that the car is being jacked up and doesn't try to adjust. I often have a car running on the lift and when I put it back on the ground, it's fully collapsed. Never have them lifted unevenly though, only with all 4 wheels off the ground and the car still level (where the car still thinks it's on the ground I guess)

it will and within the first 100 feet of driving it post-swap, it will correct itself.

That't not what he needs, yes it will relevel when you drive it off, but the problem is when you service the car and jack up one corner, the car is trying to compensate and will sink all corners. When I change winter/summer wheels/tires on my GL550 X166 the car will be sitting at the lowest setting when I'm all done. Lower than normal highway setting, you cant see the tops of the tires.

That being said I just leave the hood cracked open, to prevent this releveling while you jack up the car

I remember reading that leaving a door open would prevent this, but, if memory serves me well, that didn't do "jack sh..." for me (lget it? jack sh... ). I found that the longer you have the car jacked up on one corner... the lower the car's rear dropped. As I got speedier with my wheel swaps (ie using two jacks to lift front and rear of either side at once and doing both wheels {not advising anyone to do this}) the car's rear sank less. Also, in my experience, the car's rear would spring back up within moments after you start the car even if you don't drive it.

Just disconnect the battery, it will hold air in system.

Haven't jacked the E63s yet but I changed rear pads on the GLE63s. When lowering the rear squatted down below normal ride height and I couldn't get the jack out until I turned the car on and the rear raised back up.
