Anyone know how to remove star on front grille?
I want to remove the star and replace with the distronic star. I don't need the functionality, as my car did not come with distronic plus, but I leaps and bounds like the look of the distronic plate vs. the regular Mercedes star on the front grille.
I watched a video on youtube and they say the modern cars can just twist and they come off, but it does not seem to work. Perhaps this is because it's an AMG? Anyone know how to actually remove it? Is it possible to do so without taking the bumper off?

I twisted and twisted and it would never twist no matter how much pressure I put. I think I saw some video where I need to put a trim removal tool on the bottom right of the star and put another pry tool on the top right to unlatch a J hook. Anyone have experience with this?

Thank you for your responses guys, but I can guarantee you guys it doesn’t twist off for the e63. You guys can try on your car too, I haven’t been able to take it off even with my full body force. That’s a video of an e350 or 3550. I saw a video that suggest trim removal tools are required and J hooks need to be removed for the AMG variant? It wasn’t an E63 but was an AMG. Anyone can verify with their car?

I got it off finally, but I basically broke the silver part of the star. It came out in two pieces. It was a combination of prying and twisting left. Probably did it wrong, and I did break the base. But it's okay - the distronic replacement is snap straight in, but needed pry tool to get the hooks in.. again probably manhandled that, but the result is good lol
