Exclamation E63 pouring coolant, shredded belt

Hello Everyone,

I recently just purchased a 2014 e63s and upon 2 days of owning it, the water pump developed a crack as well as some hoses that supplied coolant to the turbo ( if i remember correctly). It took them about a week and a half to diagnose the problem, and today when I was driving I recieved an error with a battery on it, then all of a sudden the temperature shot up, and it started pouring coolant. I opened the hood and the entire belt was shredded. I Purchased this vehicle within 2 weeks ago, do I have any legal right to just take it directly to mercedes and then give the bill to the company I purchased it from? I feel as if I am receiving terrible service because they deal mainly with exotic cars.

Also has anyone else experienced anything similar to this or know what the cause might be?

This is is the car in question: https://www.shadowautogallery.com/20...-63-amg-brabus

Thank you!

@plutoe They originally fixed it at their repair facility. Thats why I have such big concerns. And I have not yet purchased a warranty.

Not sure if anyone will warranty a brabus modified and tuned e63S, would try anyways

would get them (seller) to honor another repair and then have benz to a private inspection after

additionally get them to make that big B on the grill straight .. it looks tilted a bit

sorry for your troubles

Taste is subjective, right? I'm guessing the car's been plasti-dipped based on the paint texture. But whoever detailed that car as prep for a photo shoot should be schooled.

Hope the OP gets issues sorted out so the enjoyment can begin.

what had happened was the belt either fell off or had a tear, and shredded in the engine bay, they are fixing it right now. Is there any additional precautions i can take to keep the car cooler? vented hood, brake ducts, air filters, thermostats, different fluids, dif. radiator etc.

Thank you!

Maybe one of the idler pulleys failed which caused the belt the belt to come off and cause damage.

the car has an excellent oem engine cooling system as is ... not much more to add unless you plan on routinely tracking it every weekend; even with the aggressive brabus tune you would usually be fine with routine driving with occasional aggressive/spirited driving/pulls

I think the color looks nice, hopefully they sorted all the flaking badges up before you purchased it... id follow up with the shop you purchased it from, mercedes will charge you for it if it goes to them and the shop do not have to pay if you did this without their prior approval.

The coolant line across the front of the M157 for the turbo coolant do fail and leak, if they leak on the belt it would cause what you had happen. Take it to get it fixed, but as far as what responsibility does the selling dealer have, that's up to what you signed when you bought the car from them. You can always sue but for used cars that's a tough burden to prove.

yeah that big AS IS sheet in the window is challenging to dispute, but the dealer will hopefully care more about their reputation than the fine print.

well done! Now go enjoy that car and get a warranty

the warranty may be the best $6-7000 you've ever spent
