E63s Wagon - My search for a unicorn
I've had no luck with MB Corporate, but I am trying to figure out what was the production run for the 2016 E63 AMG wagon. They wont release that info until the model is 5 years old. Does anyone happen to have some rough ideas? Also, does anyone know how many were sold in the USA for 2016 MY?
At the moment, there are only a handful of 2016 E63s wagons for sale in the country, so what i am trying to gauge is how many more will be coming off of lease soon. For example, if I know that the end of production was March 2016, then I know that I have till March 2019 where they'll be popping up for sale as they are being returned.

Two reasons. First and more important, the updated transmission. It seems like the jerkiness has been completely worked out for the 2016MY. Secondly, I like the updated COMAND, particularly because it allows the ability to enable Apple CarPlay.
And this is not one of my actual reasons, but it’d be cool to have the last of the M157 (for the E), and the last year of the model. I always drooled over the 2006 E55’s for example.

OK, makes sense. I found a 14 with color, low miles, full cf, ccb, seat options i wanted. FWIW, I don't have any jerky transmission issues. and the audio thing, other then the motor sound is of limited interest.
good luck with your search, you will find it!

The W212 MY2016 E63S will be the last true big block beast. Also the sedan will stand alone as the last one before assimilating itself with the C and S class soft pussified rear end, and no electronic gauges. Not to mention the last time tje traditional interior MB classic trim will ever produce. That is why I built mine to specs and chose to get tje MY2016, over the W213.

I would not make it hard for yourself restricting your search to 2016 models just to get Apple CarPlay and optimised transmission . CarPlay is nothing too exciting in my opinion. I have it on my daily driver and apart from plugging it in to see what it was all about have never used it. Re the transmission I have a 2015 E63S and find the transmission works perfectly well, certainly a marked improvement in terms of "drivability" over the 2012 C63 that I owned previously . There was no change to the hardware of the transmission on the 16 models that I am aware of so any real or perceived improvements over earlier versions could be achieved with a TCU software update.

The trick is
the trick is don’t blink just sign the deal.
I lost a couple by shopping. You can’t shop the wagons, you just have to buy them before the other guy does.

Good news for me! Now I just have to figure out what all is involved in converting the dash from KMH to MPH, since I’d import it to USA. We might have the same exact car very soon, ha.
What was better about the Oakland one just out of curiosity? Have you seen this Toronto one in person?

Brand new brakes
Brand new tires
Better price
I did not see Toronto in person but someone else here did and they said it needed stuff, maybe they will chime in. To be honest I didn’t even test drive or inspect the Oakville one either - I just bought it then drove it home.
Good luck! These cars are amazingly useful AND fun!

PS to find one...
I did not have success with looking at online ads like autotrader etc.
I picked up the phone and called all the MB dealers and pressed 1 for sales. Some are corporate, some are owned by groups that share inventory, some are private - call them alll in an area and ask if they have the car you want. That’s how I found mine.
