New OEM wheels. Do I need tyre pressure monitors?
Hi all,
Sorry if it's a dumb question, but I've only ever owned "regular cars" before my E63.
I'm looking at picking up a spare set of OEM AMG wheels so that I can have my stock ones reconditioned and repaired.
What's the rules with tyre pressure monitors? Do I need to grab another set for when I swap the wheels over? If so, is it two? Or four? I really don't know.
Appreciate the help.
Cheers,
Dan.

No dumb questions!
You need to get one pressure sensor per wheel. Unless of course you are only using them for a short period, in which case you can save the money and run without the sensors. You will have an error in the dash, but you know the issue...
Then just check pressure as we always did in the "old days".

If you are swapping wheels just take the ones out of your current set of wheels and put them in your new wheels. No need to buy new ones if your old ones still work.

Yes, as ProfessorX mentioned, you may simply take the ones from your current wheels and put them in the new ones. Now, if you are getting a spare set... why not use one set for summer and the other for winter? Going with my idea you will need and extra set of four sensors.. I got mine here: https://www.tpms.com/2014_Mercedes_B...0_E_s/6346.htm
Good luck!

Often when you take out the old ones they can get damaged and you may need new ones ...
