New Pads/Rotors - front clicking sound on initial brake press??

Example: am parked, put car in reverse and first brake press the front click/clunk sound happens and then right after when going from reverse to drive (at 1-2 mph) the first press of the brakes again makes the front end click/clunk sound.
The noise doesnt return while staying in drive on using the brake repeatedly and the brakes perform fantastic. the noise only only happens in the Reverse to Drive process and when the initial touch of the brakes happens as you go from reverse (foot on brake, then initial click/clunk sound) to drive (foot to brake and initial click/clunk) then it doesnt return while in drive until you go through reverse to drive again.
Any ideas what is going on? THose with EBC reds, is that normal for those pads?? I dont get the noise in the rears which are EBC reds and zimmerman rotors.
Here's the brake setup i have - https://mbworld.org/forums/w212-amg/...rs-dealer.html
When this happened with my Acura I took it back to them they re-installed the front pads and the problem went away.
Happens quite often and is 100% safe. It's sometimes just the fact that there is a sliver of lateral play as well, and the disc push the pad into the piston when you go forward&reverse. Mine does exactly the same, running Hawk 5.0.
Annoying? Maybe a tiny, tiny bit. Worth it for better brake modulation and 80% dust reduction? You bet!

Did you add a shim and have the sound stop, or do you just live with it as is?

@PeterUbers, @jvakos, and @HPMan....these shims you are talking about, are they on the backing plate of the pads that touch the pistons of the brake calipers or are they shims are placed between the outside edges/rims of the brake pad backing plate so they fit snugly into the brake caliper cradle? I would love to know that the solution looks like so I can go searching. Was also wondering if the retaining springs that hold the pads in the caliper can be adjusted or bent to hold the pad more firmly. Thanks for the help!
