Steering Bolts recall

Thanks to @konigstiger for the information.
Seems not to be a recall but a service Campaign. I believe this is covered even if out of warranty.
Service Campaign 2019080019 NOV19 – 2012-2017 C-Class, CLS-Class, E-Class, GL-Class, GLC-Class, GLE-Class, GLK-Class, GLS-Class, M-Class, S-Class (205, 218, 207, 212, 213, 166, 253, 292, 204, 217, 222) aluminum bolts of the steering gear housing cover and the aluminum bolts on the power steering rack may corrode over time this could lead to a separation of the power steering unit from the steering rack resulting in power steering failure. Dealer will replace the aluminum bolts and seal them, or replace the power steering rack if necessary. Have dealer check VMI to determine if your VIN is involved. Approximately 398,527 vehicles are affected.

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
Im confused if this is an offical recall or what this is exactly? its just bolts that are being changed it seems.
Its a simple bolt change, but will require to do a wheel alignment for the toe in the front, and reset the electric steering.
If the bolts break, your whole rack gets replaced.
Attached the PDF for this.

Personally, I have checked my bolts, they are clean as can be since i dont drive much in rain or salt roads. I applied the oem wax on to the bolts and motor as noted in the pdf, and i will continue on my way
Esp. since this never seemed to be much of a widespread issue on the w212 anyways. Maybe they should have done a service campaign on the M157 with oil in the harness or nosey timing chains on start up people complain of.At this point, i try to visit the dealer as minimal as possible, detaching and dropping my steering rack via the dealer i will hold off on.
And hey, if my electric motor bolts snap off, i get a brand new steering rack and front wheel alignment free of charge

Just hope it doesn't happen during parking, no power steering isnt fun in parking situations lol.

I hate to have all those parts removed for not real reason. Now for a new rack and electric motor its worth it.
I had this done on my mini cooper s turned out t be a nice deal at the time.
Now could it be they are sending based on registration location know for bad roads and salt.
My letters were dated Dec 2019 or 2019080019 so maybe aug of 2019 and sending the letters out in batches to not overload the dealers.

That is also something i thought about, if the letters are going to certain parts of the country. Service campaigns from what someone has told me never expire, so i assume if an electric steering motor bolts snap and break down the road, benz will replace the whole rack and motor on them.
I did apply the oem wax they noted in the PDF, that is to protect the bolts and passages from water and corrosion in the future.
