im considering a wagon with the matte white finish. how did it hold up? easy to maintain? the one im looking at may need a panel repainted because it doesn't look even... do the panels change color a bit as you walk around the car in different light, etc?

FWIW, what I've heard from owners with matte paints in general is that it's a huge challenge to keep it looking nice. They chip very easily and is very hard to correct. What I've seen a lot people recommend is to get normal clear coat and do a matte wrap instead. That way, if it's damaged, you can just rewrap.
Seen so many white I wonder if my car should have come with black wheels instead of the gray. I mean I have this same exterior with white or ceramic seats but I also feel I should have black wheels on
