What are the odds of finding a E63 AMG Wagon with the Bang and Olefson?
I'm thinking years between 2012 and 2016. I know it was a rare option but does anyone have numbers of how many AMG Wagons woulda had this Bang and Olefson and anyone that has it, is it even worth it? I'm looking for a used completely loaded Wagon in the 212 model. I had one and miss it. I just looked up my old car and see it was sold not too long ago at auction for 36 K with 71K miles. I sold it with 51K miles for $44K a couple of years ago.

Ya those tweeters are very cool. At least from the way they look, they look like they’d sound good . I guess the subwoofer must be different and main door drivers? I do remember my 2012 HK sounded good. Probably better than in the 213 gen as I have a 213 450 wagon now and had a 213 amg wagon and the sound systems are not all that great.

I've had both, my 2015 has it and the difference is much better.
Especially when a station is broadcasting in HD. I don't have Sirius, so I wonder if it would be better though with the B&O system?

My 16 had it and I really didn't look for it as it wasn't a big priority. I loved it, best sound I've ever had in a car by a mile, especially impressive in a wagon with fundamentally bad acoustics. It really is worth the high entry price especially for good source audio (NOT S/XM).

The B&O is "competent" with front stereo separation/imaging - but frankly there is a LOT of other aftermarket "decent" stereo gear a competent installer can use to install a system 2-3 levels "up"/"superb" as compared to the B&O - there have been HUGE advancement in the quality and capabilities in DSP (digital signal processing) with other gear - in comparison the B&O is like 20/Tech-Year's old hat..
If you want to focus on something like "B&O" to hold yourself back from moving to the wagon - that's your choice - has absolutely nothing to do with what the AMG Wagon really is.
Oh - on the "B&O" - once someone has had it in their MB once - they could care less if they have in their next MB down the road or not -

One note to add is that the tweeters w BO system are prone to rattle. I had mine "fixed" several times to no avail. Maybe a more competent dealer could solve it but it drove me nuts when not playing louder music. The system is otherwise a gem.

Ok thanks. I’m keeping my eyes open for a 2016 with the B and O system. If they did rattle I could take the door panels apart when I get the car I find. I’m good with stuff like that.

Not sure about the 25% number shared above,. I think the number is much less than that.

When I get bored, I search for different cars on cars.com. In the past couple years, I usually see 1 out of 3 or 4 at any given time so take that as you may. It kinda makes sense too...pretty much all the E63 wagons are all made to order (i.e., none stocked in the showroom) so if you're throwing down 100k, what's another 5k right?

Ya I’m looking for one with low mileage. Hopefully a 2016. Found one in San Francisco but it’s red and I want either black white or gray or iridium silver would be real nice. This time I’m gonna get a loaded one so no regrets. Maybe even carbon ceramic brakes.

And $100k? Mine was $120+.
But i hear you.
I looked for my wagon for more than a year. I had B&O in my prior A8 W12 and it was sublime.
At one point my wife was tired of hearing about the search and told me to get a new one and order it. But i like displacement - 5.5 liter just sounds better!

2016 - low mileage - limited color - maybe interior (i don't like white interiors for example) - yeah, it will be a long search....
But that's part of the fun as well!
But when you find it - go for it - it' won't last.

It’s strange because I had a 213. 2018 amg wagon. I just did not like the car. I had a 212 2012 amg wagon for 5.5 years and loved the car. The trans on the 212 is a little more jumpy but IMO the rest of the car is just better. Had the red one not been clear on the other side of the country I woulda looked at it and if a decent car woulda considered wrapping it.

White and B&O. Not fully loaded though. I have spoken to the seller about the car, seems like a good owner.

I saw that car on autotrader. One thing I found with these cars when you try to sell them privately it’s not easy. I guess I can see why. I had trouble trying to sell my 2012 privately not much interest and it was a beautiful iridium silver car. I was kinda hoping to trade in my 2019 e450 cabriolet and it more than likely would take a Benz dealer to do that. Plus would be nice to have a certified one so at least I have some kind of warrantee. There’s a story on the 213 forums about a guy who bought a certified 213 and another dealer voided the warranty because the previous owner had done a tune so even a certified car is no guarantee I guess. The other option is I can hope the 2021s I like better than the current 213 gen or there is the possibility of the Audi RS6. I tried to talk with a guy at the Audi dealer last summer he was helpless and knew nothing. I know there are some people who have orders in for those cars now. I think they will be out late next summer.

If I purchased a certified car that had a tune prior to my ownership and the warranty was voided after I purchased the car, there would be a lawsuit against the selling dealer in a New York minute. I'd bet there would be some kind of time stamps on when the tune was loaded or when the engine parameters were outside of the normal factory settings to prove that it wasn't loaded by you. In addition, MB would have to prove the tune caused a failure. They can red flag the car but can't void the entire warranty because there was a modification.

Ya I’d be filing a lawsuit too. Here’s the thread. https://mbworld.org/forums/w213-amg/...tuned-ecu.html
