Brutus - hey totally agree and another appeal of the TCU tune is if you blow up the trans its maybe $6-8k to replace compared to the motor at $25k from an ECU tune gone bad.... so to me the TCU seems like a no brainer!!! Are they coming to Chicago/Milwaukee area anytime soon to do a group TCU session? Think we could get 10+ for sure in Chicago to step up and do the TCU.

That can all be managed in your tune, and by your right foot We can tune for whatever you want - but doesn't really make sense to leave the tq limits low... Just get a tire on the car and you'll be fine

There's a lot of interest coming out of Chicago! Y'all need to just go to the website and sign up! If you're "In" just put down the deposit, you literally have nothing to loose, as it will be refunded if we don't end up making it. The only way we will make the trip is if we have the roster filled

Can someone please explain what is happening on the 2-3 gear change in the video posted in the link above? There is like a swing of 500 rpm after the shift. Someone mentioned boost limitation because of a lack of a DV or blow off. Thanks!

That video was graciously provided by Cifdig the weekend following his TCU tune.
We all saw and commented on the video. There were a couple of ideas thrown about. Another idea was wheel spin may have caused it.
Truth is we don't know.

I defer to Cifdig to answer with his experiences post TCU tune. He's probably done 20 launches or more if his draggy activity is any indication. .

Hopefully he can come into the thread to provide some insight.

I suspect the only way to tell without having access to the original flash hardware would be to log a data run and compare throttle closure against full throttle request in the lower gears.
Stock turned TCU's will show throttle closure to restrict boost in the lower gears. Modified TCU's running this tune will allow for full boost in the lower gears. 5soko created a post around this....

I know this thread and many others have gone off topic, but as mentioned, doing a quick datalog of a 1-2 gear pull would clearly show, unless the customer opted for a low tq limit tcu tune below that of stage 1, would need more a good eye to see. Same
goes for most tune only ecu tunes out there for resale.
Many dont know their used car is tuned until they either datalog or they opt for a new tune, and this case, if your car is hooked up for a TCU tune, the tuner would be able to see it has been applied and save you the trouble
