Im going to Blackboost intake in same time when swapping M157 turbos to my car, maybe in April or may next year.

Yes I think also this is the case. Maybe UPD and VRP version can then also make some gains, but like I sayed I didn't seen any on my power level now. And im going to the blackboost to see what will happen.

Yes they do
Yeah I mean we had a customer with Downpipes and our Meth kit make 634whp in a cls550. aFe filters and spacers You can get a full meth kit for the same price of an intake. or downpipes + install if youre RWD.
Hi. I did also have UPD spacers and BMC filters in my cars set-up. ( M278 engine, custom tuned, 3 Red star downpipes, M157 E63 AMG cat back exhaust) I did Dragy my car several times before and after and didn't seen any improvement with those in my current power level (550hv 850nm).

Indeed, the BB are quite a bit of money. Money that could be used to buy plenty of other mods which will likely net larger gains near term. It all just depends on the end goal IMO. My goal was to get the best parts on the car prior to the tune so the end result would have the greatest impact/benefit. I wanted to make sure my tune accounted for these parts too so that I could have minimal tuning work done. I may end up adding methanol as well but that will just lead to safer performance.
Here is the graph of the before and after. You can see the stock intakes make more HP and torque right off the bat but then the BB make solid ground when you get into the normal performance RPM range. I am very excited to see how these numbers look with the Redstar downpipes. And I love the way the engine bay looks now. Fit and finish is very good.

On a stock car, looks like the gains are pretty much nill. Maybe with a tune they flow better than stock and the gain may be somewhat better. Either way and IMHO, the MB tax is just too high for this part.

Lifted from this thread https://mbworld.org/forums/w212-amg/...-part-two.html is my recommendation of the order of precedent for best bang for buck if wanting to increase performance…
If starting with a clean slate the following mods are recommended in order of best performance gains, with recommended venders based on our overwhelming test data.
1. TCU tune (look to other threads that discuss TCU tunes for more background – vast majority are running EC Canada Slavs white label German TCU tune) The TCU tune allows immediate access to all available stock horsepower in all gears. A TCU tuned Stock ECU car was shown to be faster out of the hole then a stock TCU Tuned ECU car.
2. ECU tune (without getting into a pissing match, the fact is the vast majority of the cars running in the 10’s are on either EC Jerry’s Ethanol tune, or EC Canada’s Slav’s ethanol tune – facts) These guys are on top of their game and the tunes stand on their own.
3. Grippier Tires (rear) Traction will suddenly become an issue off the line – better tires are needed. MT Streets have proven the best DR for dedicated track use… R888r’s are a good overall compromise for track and street.
4. ECE billet Mounts (install once and done - saves on multiple OEM mount installs – I went through 3 sets of OEM ones.. what a waste of money) With the added torque on tap from the above mods…. you will need new mounts sooner than later. Just bite the bullet and get the ECE ones.
5. High Flow Intake (the recent availability of the Black Boost Intake has blown away any performance gains arguments held previously – this is the only intake tested that has shown remarkable gains - https://mbworld.org/forums/w212-amg/...ck-intake.html no other product has shown a 0.5 second improvement in 60-130 times. The improved top end performance is undeniable and documented. Boosted Benz is your local contact.
6. Catless downpipes (Red Star make a great product, but just removing the CAT Cores in the stock downpipes has been shown to be cheaper and just as good) but this means you can't revert to stock if needed
The black boost intake comes into its own if modding you car in this sequence. Of course the car needs to be tuned to take advantage of it. 1. When running a more aggressive tune, the BB intake just flat out flows better and hence makes more power up top. Guys who ran the UPD setup have all realized performance gains after installing the BB Intake. This is not sales speak... this is fact which can be backed up with verified draggy runs.
If they're reading this thread perhaps they will share their experiences...

I agree 100% that this is not the first mod I would recommend for a stock car...

I have UPD Spacers with BMC Filters and I did not feel any difference at all. Granted 5-15hp gains is not gonna be noticable or hardly. I just purchased the Black Boost intake. I have de catted my downpipes, EC Stage 2 tune. I really wanted to do the e30 tune but i wont be doing that most likely without doing a tcu tune first. TCU tunes are not cheap and the 3 tunes i paid for to finally get the ecu tune right wasn't cheap either but we pay to play.

Built 2008 G55 & one big 80 Series LandCruiser !
I just had my E tuned and these added along with cate deletes and ECU/TCU tune..... all I can say overall is - wow...... utterly different car. The BB kit is really nicely done and adds some intake noise when really pushing the car. Wasn't able to get a dyno / before and after but have a dragy inbound nad hope to get her back over to EC ATX to finish off a few service things and upgraded the cooling /pump etc... the extra power also highlighted the need for better tires and round rims.... the square set on her now get scary fast...
with our roads I'd like to do 18's - and have a spare set of rears for some MT's or RE71's...... anyone running an 18' ? can't seem to find much in a 18x10 rear.... fronts are easy. Can't afford the downtime of custom ......forgestar is out 2-3 months for a build.
thanks !

I'm curious if these BB intakes would benefit me since I'm only on a Stage 1 91 octane tune with cats intact & everything. And I'm not at the same performance levels as you guys that are FBO with E30 tunes. I did run a 11.5 @ 127 with nothing but a tune

Stage 1 on a M157 is a big improvement and in my opinion with BB intakes or even full boltons, peak power may not be a big difference with intakes but the real difference comes after 4k when you can really see and feel the difference. power band stays higher and duty cycle on wastegate are not as high.

Jose has been an absolute pleasure to deal with. I can assure you he is moving as fast as humanly possible. Rare to have customer service as good as he provides.

I know they're not VRP but being one of your distributors i thought you might want to be aware of their (lack) of customer service and mis-representation of your product stating its a directly fit for a w212/M157 which its actually not (unless you cut the intake and modify how it attaches to the vehicle.

Any idea on where to go in the Bay Area for a TCU or is this something that can be done via shipping the TCU? Also, recommendations for said TCU upgrade?!
Very much appreciate the input.

hey @Goatspeed sorry its been a few days, we have a great Tcu from Germany that many people like and prefer at the moment most TCU or in person but I believe they are in the process of doing some remotely in the near future.
