DMP Car Design 64 color interior ambient light kit installed!
Installed the DMP car design 64 color ambient light kit in my ‘14 E63S.....WOW what an improvement!! Really updates this interior sorta more in line with how the W213 is. Sure it has these lights stock, but only in a fairly dim 3 color option. These utilize the original light tubes, but replaces the LED chip. No cutting, no splicing, nothing has to be permanently changed on the car which was a requirement for me as I was not going to cut anything or do anything permanent on my E63. Controls are done using the factory steering wheel controls and you have full brightness control as well. I really have nothing bad to say about this kit. Yes door panel and the dash trim panels need to be removed, but I found that to be extremely easy on this car. This kit also converts the door handle pocket amber lights to 64 color as well. B&O cars have the option to change the tweeter LEDs to color as well.
The camera does make these look a little brighter than they really are in person, but these are without a doubt brighter than the originals if you so choose.

hard to say as I didn’t do it non stop start to finish. I’d work on some then go do other stuff, go to soccer with the kids etc etc then work on more. All in all I’d say atleast a few hours total time. Nothing about it is difficult if you’ve messed with anything on the inside of cars before.

Not a single part broke while taking things apart on this interior. Everything is very solid and comes apart with very nicely. That was a very big concern of mine because the last thing I wanted to do was break something in my car which has very low mileage.

I was just going to ask how many clips broke - did you use interior tools to remove the panels?

Easiest interior I’ve ever worked on and I used to be an audio installer back in the day. Not even joking...they couldn’t make it easier, and like I said the panels are very solid and at no point was I thinking something was about to break. I was very skeptical myself because I am extremely picky with this car....it’s barely out of the break-in period it has such low miles! 😬
what tools did you use to pull interior apart? you didn't film it by chance This looks so much better and brighter than our 3 color setup
Nothing more than basics. T27 torx for the door panel screws, plastic pry tool kit. I used YouTube for the how to vids on how to remove all the panels.
That's awesome! I'd love this for my 2012 car.....the link however, does not work for me. My car has the lowly 3, dim colors as well. One of my favorite things on the S I had was the ambient color choices haha. Very nice work
Did the same retrofit on my CLS, but opted for the 12 colour option because it included 4 footwell lights. The DMP car design never included those and I believe the footwell lights add SO much more light (I have a thread with pictures).
