Rear Airmatic Suspension loosing air

Hello everyone! I have a 2011 e63 amg with the rear airmatic suspension and the driver side loses air after a minute of sitting there. When I turn the car on the compressor kicks on to air the car up and it fully airs it up and then kicks off. probably because of a pressure sensor, but then the driver side starts to let go of the air... i was discussing this issue with my dad and he mentioned that the polyurethane hose that leads air to the air spring itself could have a Crack and I brought up if the car is losing air after it fills up wouldn't you think if the hose had a hole the airspring woukd still hold air but it would just take longer to fill due to leak in hose? Is there a one way valve, or a solenoid or a bleeding valve that allows air to escape from the spring directly? Or does the air run through the hose again? Or is it just a straight connection between the air spring and the compressor with the hose attaching the two? Obviously when I have the car in the driveway this weekend, I'm going to take a look at it and try to diagnose said issue with the spring, but I wanted to know if anyone could be of some help on this topic/in this situation? Luke is there a diagram that shows the air lines that run from the compressor to the springs in the rear? I'm gonna start with the hose and take a look there, if that's not the issue the air springs aren't very spendy from what I've seen so far, ill just replace the spring if it comes down to that being the cause of the issue. Thanks in advance everyone!

Most likely you have a bad air spring bellow. Super common on all European air suspension cars, esp if you live in the climate where they use salt or sand. The small aprtricales get into the fold of the rubber and over time creates a leak.
Not necessary that it rubs a hole, many time it's simply the aggravated flex that makes the rubber develop a small leak.
Great news for us is that the E63 is using the same part as the standard E class cars and that it's separate from the shock absorber. The shocks are special to our cars and made out of unobtainium.....

My MB service tech told me to check the air hose routing behind the heat shield by the rear exhaust bend next to the left wheel.
on some occasions, the hose touches the heat shield and melts away.
Good luck with the repair.

thank you! Also i think i did pick up on a diagram that I seen that the air spring is seperate from the shock so that was very exciting lol, but when you say that our cars use the same part as standard e class cars does that mean they use the same airspring as the newer standard e classes? Or what exactly did you mean? I know the w212 E55 has air springs as well, but the E350 Doesn't. So were you referring to all e classes that have air springs?
thank you again!

He meant the W212 AMG and the Non-AMG E Class cars. I highly doubt all generations would use the same part.

Post your VIN and I'll look up the part.

Replace the rear air springs and that should do it. I had the same problem sagging overnight.

Aloha, I have a 2005 E55 AMG. I just had a shop install new Arnott air springs in the rear. Just after a few days the rear is sinking again. Assuming the air springs are ok, what else could be causing the rear suspension to sink in just a few days? Thank you,

Check the valve block or leaks in the air lines.

If it's losing air that fast, it's a pretty significant leak. If it's losing overnight, that is normal (within a certain range).

As someone who just went through this, I'd fix it sooner than later because you can burn your pump up, blow your pre-fuse block, or both. I'd start with the soapy spray water bottle test on all the connections (at the pump/valve block/ea bag/reservoir)

I as another that just replaced my compressor and pre-fuse assembly, I echo that it be fixed now rather than later.

Joe

If someone near you has Xentry, you can pretty easily test components to find the leak
