Theft protection- Road trip
Would like to take the wagon on a road trip and wondering what steps would you take from getting the baby picked up especially parking at a hotel?

Negative battery terminal pull will disable the radio keyless system if they cloned your key fob. Also keep your key fob in foil. You can always get back in the car with the actual key; pull the ecu

No I don't have the trailer but wondering with prices soaring, may be certain cars might be too enticing for theft purposes. I am actually going to Atlanta area and they are notorious for auto theft and chop shops hence my concern.

Fog a mirror? Have $100?
This is a start and covers half the country https://www.nhsp.dos.nh.gov/our-serv...lver-licensing
Or just enjoy your car and let insurance make you whole if something happens.
Yes when we have events we hire security for the parking lot because things do get stolen. Memphis was especially bad for that.
I still go, sleep well, and if my car's gone in the morning my car's gone in the morning. I can get another one! But the loser that took it will always be a loser. They'll get what's coming to them one day.

I had my teen-ager sneaking out in my car so I put a club on it as a surprise for them and while I put it on I scratched the black off one of my right thumb buttons

maybe camouflage it? just keep the car super dirty on the outside so it looks like crap and maybe the would be thieves will not even notice it if you have the MercedesME activated you can always use the MB App to see the location of the vehicle and lock the doors. MercedesME is soon going away for 2014-2016 cars unfortunately but for a few more months its still working

I LOLed when I read this!
then I read what ITGuy posted:
And said to myself, damn! THIS dude actually TRIED it?!
Ok, then , maybe try the Club that was designed for clutches on your brake pedal. I used to have one on the steering wheel and another on the brake pedal when I had my WRX
Did y'all see how the guys from cannonball garage disguise their Alpha tuned CannonBall run E63? Take off badges and vinyl wraps to make it "look like a Honda Accord"! lol!

I used to have the club years ago ... like 20 years ago. It was fine for its purposes back then. I'm not sure it really does anything anymore. People will literally just saw through the steering wheel or remove the steering wheel.
Then there's always the tow truck method.
As others have mentioned, just enjoy the car, knowing that you have insurance in a worst-case scenario. Yes, it might mean extra money out of pocket and a long search to get "the right car" as a replacement, but it is what it is. If you can't enjoy the car while you have it, then what's the point.
My biggest regret is "keeping the mileage low" on a car I used to have. Sold it with 19k miles after five years. Wish I had just driven it until the wheels fell off. I'm doing that with the E63 now. ICE cars have only so much time left, might as well enjoy it.

I'd be careful with the concealed carry. Yes, I have a permit myself and advocate that everyone should at least consider it. That said, if you do concealed carry, make sure you take training and know what you're doing. You need to be very judicious with the use of a gun - you don't want to actually make the situation worse. There's been a rash of carjackings in the DC area for M3/M4s lately. All of them while the driver has been in the car, person comes up to the car with a gun drawn, pointed at the person's face. Even with concealed carry, one of the drivers got out of the car and let it go. The car jacker had the upper hand by already having the gun pointed at the driver's face - nothing having a gun on you could do in that situation. Weigh the consequences of your actions before you act.
