aesthetically, too big for the engine bay... I'll pass.
I sorta agree with you. Aesthetically does not really do it for me either. Still pondering about custom making these when the paper ones bite the dust:
I always thought the purpose of the OEM paper ones was they don’t heat soak, don’t retain heat and don’t transfer engine bay heat to the incoming air.
For that reason I’ll just buy the cheaper paper OEM ones if mine ever break.
I didn't know that the OE ones were suppose to have this property. I wondered why they'd make the inlet pipes outta this crappy material since the first time I popped the hood. There are many aftermarket OE knock off ones on Amazon for under $50.

I read it here somewhere in another thread and took it as gospel.
The other part of me thinks after the short distance the air travels through the paper it is immediately hitting the heat in the filter area anyhow, right?
<shrug>
I do love the way the carbon ones look...
Here's some heat comments. Maybe I just worry too much.

Thanks for the link and the info. I don't drive my cars hard, but I feel the same way about these things... I try to pop that hood open to dissipate heat as much as I can.
Here is a link to a site that sells the carbon elbows I saved from someone else's post: https://www.siliconeintakes.com/alum...45-p-9668.html

Is that your car with the carbon inlet I posted above?

Buy the parts, ship them to my place. Il cut them to spec and such since we have the same cars and ship them to you.
I like how yours is done and I am interested in this as well if you are willing to do the same for me.
If you can link the parts that you got so that I can get them and ship them to you if that is okay with you.
I am assuming I would have to buy the silicon couplings and clamps separately.

Clamps can be bought from home depot or something. The rest can be bought from the site above
As stated by the others, it looks great!
How about that BOV?! The combo of carbon inlet pies, T-Bolt clamps and BOV look super sexy! Can you feel any performance improvements w/ it or is it just some sound when the car shifts gears? I had one in my WRX and got talked into going back to stock BPV by my tuner at the time.
I'm not sold on silicone ones not folding. (I haven't looked at the BB ones yet - maybe they have some sort of reinforcement so they don't fold on themselves.)
