Bad Intercooler Pump was What's going on with my throttle - scan logs

So I threw on the Black Boost intake and some Kooks Catless downpipes, along with a TCU tune and hit the track to see what would happen "stock" before doing the ECU tune too.
The car lost 4-5 mph. Stock it was 121-123mph now with the above mods 117-119mph (no ECU tune).

What is going on with the throttle? Is it being limited because the ECU is all freaking out over the BB intake and downpipes?
Accelerator position D is only hitting 92.2%
Throttle is only maxing out at 87.1%
I'm getting 3% knock retard in cyl 1 and 5
I have brand new spark plugs

I'm hoping this is normal and my test of "what would happen if you do downpipes and don't tune" is "you need a tune dumbass".

Do the experts think that after I flash the proper ECU tune it will take care of it being so slow and wonky? Does that make sense or am I going in for a world of hurt cranking up a tune and boost on some existing issue? No I did not log before putting on the mods, I should have. The car did feel slower right after.

I do not - when I asked for new plugs I told the dealer do check the coils too because I am tuning it… I asked about them after service too they said they are good. Too much faith? They did replace a wire or two as well.

Here's another shot with the Channels showing Absolute and Calculated Loads (Thanks @brutus_tx )
Boost is only around 11 PSI
This is stock ECU with a TCU tune, cold air, and cat back:

I'm sure my engine pulled timing when my 2 or 3 coils went bad, I also had 1,5 (and 8) go bad.

i would replace and re log; May as well do all 8... misfires are not cool on this engine

I had a similar issue. Car was pulling timing due to a minor misfire that didn't show up as a misfire or even get a check engine light. Turns out plugs was gapped incorrectly. I to was trapping super low 118-119 mark

I really want to give it all the beans Sunday! Need to figure this out.

I also pulled these codes

P061B is a generic diagnostic trouble code (DTC) that stands for “Internal Control Module Torque Calculation Performance.” It indicates that the powertrain control module (PCM) made a torque calculation error, either due to an internal failure or unexpected sensor data - related to running TCU Tune without the matching ECU tune?
P026A - Charge Air Cooler Efficiency Below Threshold (Pending)

P0420 and P0430 for the Catalyst System Efficiencies Below Threshold Bank 1 and 2

I'm Flashing the Stage 2 Tune and will carefully log a bit after the tune

Thank you Peter I’m picking up at least two today and replacing 1 and 5. I can’t bring myself to buy all 8 today because they want $125 a coil! Lolz I’ll look around online for the rest.

1 and 5 are the front like this right?

can you flash tcu back to stock? If so then clear code and see if it returns

Great idea.

Ok do these coils with wire “snap” on at all like other spark plug wires? I’m not feeling confident pushing the new ones back on, I’m not getting a positive click onto the spark plug.

no positive click .. just push all the way and tighten torx screw and you're set .. ideally use plug grease but not required

Thank you
So now 1 and 5 are replaced I'm showing some knock retard on all of them LOL
But a little more psi today

I wonder what is going on, I'm just ignorant and learning is knock retard a little like that "normal"
Still no miss or anything

What fuel do you have in the tank? Brand, octane....

how are your IAT's?

IAT 58C or 136F

Fuel is 94 Octane Petro Canada around here that’s the good stuff.

What’s everyone else’s knock retard?

This thread shows the same, I just don’t know if it’s normal or not to have some knock retard:

136f seems kinda high.whats the temp outside?ever Consider doing a pump rewire to keep the fluid moving around at all times regardless if driving normal or wot

Could adding Downpipes without tuning for it be pulling timing ...

I just flashed the stage 2 ECC “Slav” tune. Then I
had to drive the family to the lake so no logging or WOT argh. Will find out tomorrow!

Crossing my fingers it’s the cat-less downpipes on stock tune that just doesn’t work. I sure hope that’s it.

Ecu will definitely pull timing if IATs get too high. Can you log your IAT over time during the pull? If IATs are rising too quickly then there is something wrong with the intercooler system. Would also explain the P026A code.
Was the most recently posted log done after back to back runs? Ambient temps have been pretty cool last couple days.

I think you are onto something
From 0-136kph the IAT's are a rock solid 35C
From 136 to 210kph they rise 51-58C depending on the run
No not back to back runs just a nice normal run, the iat's actually drop a bit compared to idle/cruising they are 36 drop do 35 stay there for 1/2 the run then shoot up. What's "normal"? I've had that code before and discounted it because it said "pending' and never "perm". Whoops.

I'm going to do the pump mod this morning and make sure there's not a rats nest in the intercooler or something then off to the track, hopefully it behaves!

Thank you everyone I'll be checking in here and logging at the track

I only made one lap at the track with the Stage 2 tune and the always on pump mod.
Check out the IAT of 102C ouch that's like 215F can that be real? It only made it up to 13 PSI too.

Result: 11.8 @ 118mph. Ooof. The silver lining? The announcer said "Look who brought a grocery getter to the track" then "Oh wait look that, that wagon is winning" and I beat a new Corvette Stingray. Heh.

Can anyone post a clean 1/4 mile run I can compare some numbers? I'm learning and don't know where spark etc. should be compared to mine. But, I'm guessing my problem right now is the heat. I'm not sure where to go from here except handing the keys over to a shop. Any ideas of stuff I can try? Sucky part is our season just ended, I probably won't get back to the track until the spring
