So for the past few weeks I have been using the banks data monster log gauge. It comes with a SD card to record logs and email to turners etc if need be. I purchased a defrost vent gauge pod and mounted it on the drivers side. I don't drive my car in cold months or anything so I don't have issues with windows fogging or anything. I will post links for the products I used, and if anyone is interested in how to install I can do a quick video. I highly recommend having this gauge to keep a eye out on afr, boost and iat and so many other peramiters. Links below for the gauge and pod

I did not. The oem dash has small holes and areas where you can pass the wire through without any drilling or cutting. If you remove the cover on the side panel of dash, you can peak inside and you see see a good routing point

I am just reading the data that the ecu is seeing. Boost and iat are my 2 go to. You will also notice the coolant temp on the dash and what the ecu see are 2 diffrent numbers.

Nice looking install. Now I have to go look at my dash on the R231 SL400. I do have an analog clock in the middle of my dash. I think it is 52mm. I always wanted to put a turbo boost gauge there, but removing it is probably gonna make the car unhappy.
Why add such an contraption when you can add an obd interface and design your own display.
Either with an upgraded Android monitor like I did or use the Comand with Android auto update.
I can swipe left or right and have even more gauges going.

This is a good setup, I am just not a fan of the screen sticking out from the dash itself, and I also don't like messing with Mercedes electronics, they scare me

I prefer the OEM look and IMO, the aftermarket screens look tacky - something you'd see in a Civic. The Banks gauge will show up to 8 readings on each page (configurable), and you have 5 customizable pages (click the arrows to navigate pages instead of swiping). It really comes down to personal preference, obviously.
I installed Banks Gauge too, twin display, 1 is the Data Monster.
But I added its analog sensor modules, 4 of them and the Air Mouse.
For logging speed and logging bandwith, its hard beat the Banks Gauge.
If only it has GPS module as option, it will be awesome as the time and date and position data can then be included.
However, do test ......that if for my M276.8 , which the Lambda sensor family is the same as M157 / M278 and the ECU is MED 17.7 too , the AFR value is read by Banks as "opposite" to actual.
When under full throttle, AFR showing Lean and not Enriched.
