On the topic of oil filters, I use the cheapest store brand oil filter for the Cayenne with 5k-6k mile oil change intervals. Great Blackstone results every time.

That is not 5W-50 though also one is mb approval 229.51 and the other is 229.5

Yikes. You might want to get something like 0W-40, unless you have a block heater but I doubt that helps enough.

The two approvals are NOT just a newer version of one or the other. If your engine specifies 229.5, do not use 229.51. 229.51 is not a substitute for 229.5 for your engine.

I would say yes to the gray label. As in nature, red usually means danger — no touchy touch.
