I read through your long PDF report... many crazy modules waiting to be refreshed (1-Reset, 2-Reboot, 3-Reset).
> How long did it take for your battery to run low?

I would physically look at both front door control Modules... they get soft-crashed and prevent quick CAN-B COMs when F-SAM does its regular network polling. This is what drains MB battery in days instead of weeks.

The real problems are under the radar, not listed on the faults report.

I changed the max speed controlled by the ECU using my Creader Elite BENZ 2.0 today. Before making any changes, backup your current code configuration.

Now, on to making changes. After selecting the ECU (ME), go to Variant Coding. Then select Implicit_variant Coding. Scroll down to No. 019, Vehicle Speed Limit. Select your speed and then Write Coding. The engine needs to be ON but NOT running. Follow the prompts. The new speed limit has been written into the ECU.

Alternatively, I think you can do the same by selecting Setting/Changeover, Maximum vehicle speed limit, and change as before.

good + bad

having all these system options exposed at our finger tips opens up new realms.

Some modules are like candy stores. So far I have enjoyed these:
  1. AAC HVAC
  2. ECU
  3. F-SAM/CGW
  4. iCLUSTER

Most others modules have fewer useful options for us to toggle, dumbo peripherals.

Features based on hardware require the connected parts and the matching software. Not just a magic On/Off toggle brings joy every time.

cReader + Benz : more power to us!

Save original setting options before you modify them. "RTFM" + try to keep a record of what you massage.

Treat unfamiliar firmware with an once of respect... careful, this stuff runs your precious car.
🤞

FYI caution: explore at your own risk - I picked up some odd actuator fault after massaging my HVAC settings. (My stock actuators have been soldered reliably for couple years). I think exposed options may bring mixed outcomes. Untested software combinations are extra fragile.
Let's see!

Well, here's some more stuff. I haven't actually tried it because I already have my ECO Start/Stop disabled. But it appears that you may be able to disable it with the Creader.

From the Engine Control Module (ME), go to Variant Coding (or maybe Setting/Changeover) and find Engine Start/Stop. Then select NOT ACTIVE. It should take you to the previous screen (or maybe you need to navigate back). Remember you need to Write Coding for the change to take affect. Follow the prompts.

Remember, I have not actually done this, but I did change the speed limiter as described above. As always, proceed at your own risk.

That's a very nicely documented procedure

There's probably two dozen useful options that would be best found under an archive cReader thread and/or indexed by chassis/engine variants.

Thanks @JettaRed for all of the great info and documentation on the Launch Elite Benz. Very cool that you were able to find coding capability for speed limiter and (possibly) ECO start/stop default. Do you see anything in the unit related to other popular coding options like Video in Motion, ILS lighting activation, or seatbelt chime on/off?

Actually, I did see something about ILS, but it wouldn't work on my car, or at least I couldn't detect any changes. I am still looking for the seatbelt chime. I'm guessing it will be in either the Central Gateway (ZGW) (N93), Front SAM (N10/1), or maybe Instrument Cluster (A1) modules. I have not come across the Video in Motion setting, but I wasn't looking for it.

The ILS+ coding is so intense with Monaco or whatever that doing it on the Elite may be a tall order. If it can code all modules then it should be technically possible, which is cool. For me, the BenzNinja did it while I mowed my lawn.

Reset with the Launch tool, and rescanned with DAS.

That 9027 code was only visible in the dev section of DAS in the UCP module (and does not appear in this quick scan report), but I simply cleared it.

Looking more closely, some (all?) of the codes remaining were there in early Jan when I first scanned with DAS. So it is possible that the Launch tool didn't clear them properly. I should attempt to clear them with DAS and see if they go away. They are all stored except for the mirror heater (which is actually failed) and the COMAND software (because I updated the firmware to fix the GPS time issue). So, they should clear and go away if I am correct. Not sure why the Launch tool couldn't clear them (or the 9027).

What exactly are you telling me to do now? You want me to take my door panels off and look at my door modules? I can't reset them through DAS?

This car has a big aux battery so it's not obvious what its state of charge is. The car always cranks the same because the starter battery is dedicated. That said, I have been suspicious that there is extra drain on that aux battery.

Sometimes I find that if I use Launch's Clear command after a scan to clear ALL of the codes at once, some remain. I then need to open each module separately and clear the code for that module. That usually works if the code is stored and not current. Don't know why, but I can guess that some codes are triggered by others, like the P0300 (multiple cylinders misfires) is thrown whenever P0301, P0302, P0303, etc. (cylinder 1, 2, 3, etc.) is thrown. If Launch tries to clear P0300 before any of the others, it may not work. BTW, I've never seen P0300 without one of the other P030X codes.

@JettaRed have you tried removing the torque limitations on the transmission? I think one of the screen grabs you posted listed that as menu option

I have not as I see that as potentially dangerous. I have a tune already ( @VividRacing VRTune Stage 2) and trust the tuner to adjust the torque limitations as necessarily, but safely.

This thread super busy... in many directions

Let's navigate the line of "scanner application".

You submitted your car SCAN REPORT, I took the time and interest to process it.
My post was the resulting steps to deal with the issues.

A scanner output is an necessary input of evidence. How you understand that is "art & science", like cooking real food.

Each fault helps understand which module bugged out on what sort of issue.

The good problem to fix are the known ones that are not fully developed such as:

"Oil in harness"

"Oil pump solenoid"

Diff. Oil

Tranny Mount

Chassis Main Strap

Stiff Serpentine Tensioner

Limp Chain Tensioners

......

You can find the specific action items in my original post.

> Take-home here :
FLOAT or disconnect your batteries. Flat batts are as good as junk that will keep challenging the MB electricals with low-voltage issues. Countless odd faults straining weak connections with higher current spikes.

No great antidote for dead battery, only preventive action. Batteries are like tires : don't use them flat. ✌️

I reprogrammed all 4 door modules which also reset them. I should be good.

I should note all of this work is in DAS on my 07 S550, so I apologize for all of this being in the AMG W212 forum. Probably confusing for some.
