I’m back! maybe…..
Former 2008 e63 wagon owner here , possibly
coming back into the fold ( leaving my my 55k mile, M5 6speed)
Help from the group:
I am looking at this wagon , from these guys in Chicagoland.
1. Anyone know this car?
2. Anyone deal with these guys?
did a MB dealer ppi and it came up clear.
any help /guidence is appreciated

not all PPI's are created equal, did they scope the cylinders and compression test them as well?

Ppi showed no open service items and everything works
No scope no compression test -ppi was local MBdealer

Welcome back (hopefully) @Avantabe ! I believe I was the 4th owner of your Black 08 E63 wagon. My family enjoyed that car for almost 10 yrs! My kids loved the 3rd row that the 3rd owner added. Sold it last winter to a gentleman in California for his collection (for the same $ I paid for it) and moved on to a 2018 E63 Wagon - what a beast. Definitely test drive one of the W213's if you haven't.
Sorry I don't have any specific advice on this vehicle, but just wanted to say hi and good luck!

would strongly consider scope and compression before sinking the cash / tons of evidence to support this recommendation
oil Oil oil in the harness and leaking sensors and solenoids / check check check - the ppi can easily miss this
turbo lines are ok? Not cracked or degraded? Nothing in carfax shows any extensive maintenance

also - was it tuned? The ppi may not know this - you can ask the dealer that did the ppi. Many many of these are tuned - that should factor in for you as the m157 takes a beating when tuned - bent rods in particular
