Customer E63 Deliveries - Update please

My dealer here in Los Angeles and located near the VPC just told me they are expecting the cars Mid week. Not sure how reliable but that it what I have been told.

Also, just a heads up to all in Canada. I actually saw my car at the dealer and am expecting delivery tomorrow or Wed at the latest. Look's like the wait is over and we finally get our cars.

Slappy is your dealer from the Thornhill store? If so, I was standing right next to him as he was taking pictures of the Edition 1 and was telling me he is sending these to his client.

No word on they can be released, and If you have been told your getting delivery this week, Please post pics for us so I can go back to my dealer with that.

Per post on PL from AMG rep, E63 sedans & wagons as well as E43s are to begin leaving the VPCs tomorrow in USA. So hopefully the carriers get these cars to the dealers so the customers are in them by the end of this week.

Finally! I’m excited for you guys...
...and I’m excited for myself. Those of us still on the fence will get to hear your first hand experiences soon!
My plan is to come out of a 1000hp 996 Turbo and Range Rover to downsize to a single car, most likely the W213 E63 or the F90 M5

I've chosen the E63S Wagon. Put a deposit down today, guiding dealer to delivery to me April/May when my current lease is up.

Delivered Today
Ok All. Finally 100% confirmation that the cars are being delivered. I finally picked up my beast today. The car is amazing and really worth the wait. We have all been waiting a really long time and to be honest like everyone else, was starting to get frustrated and angry. The good news is the second you get into this car all that goes away for pure joy. The car drives just as everyone in the forum expects!!! I am sure everyone will be in theirs in the coming days/weeks.

I think for must of us that have multiple vehicles the purpose of this car is to be a sedan that performs, while being classy but not flashy. I have my other cars for flashy.

btw, dealer said anything about compensation and whether the fluids and gas have been changed out (if yours was sat for many months)

Changing out gas is probably not a big deal as they typically ship these cars with less than a quarter tank at most, and fill the rest at the dealership. Shipping rules mean they can’t be transported with full tanks.

Either way will listen to MB and if something breaks.... MB is picking up the repair tab regardless.
I can also tell you, that I drove my friends GTS today and up to 4500 RPM the E feels much faster. I can only imagine once the break in period is over, how fast this machine really is. Keep in mind, I did not even take it out of comfort mode and thing just wants to explode off the line. Everyone waiting for their cars will be very happy once they actually sit behind the wheel. The wait is worth it!!

No, spoke to the service manager and he said the fluids used from the factory are specially designed to help break the car in. He told me to absolutely not change the fluids right now even though the car sat for some time. TBH I don't know if that's them just being lazy or the truth, but I have heard this from other mechanics as well.

That is the part that I am still very undecided on. I did put it into sport plus for about 3 gear changes and of course there was a signifcantly noticeable difference from comfort mode. That said the GTS and C63S were much louder IMHO. I can't really say as I don't want to push it over 4500 RPM until I get 1000 miles under my belt. I have a feeling that the exhaust notes are really heard after the 4500 RPM mark. I could definitely hear the car in sport plus but again did not have enough time in it to give you a solid answer. It's strange because even with the exhaust button on in comfort mode, it was very tame. As soon as I changed to Sport Plus the exhaust note changed completely. I would have thought the exhaust would sound the same in comfort with exhaust set to sport plus, but nope completely different sound.

Did not get an Edition 1. I do however have the sports exhaust, AMG performance package, premium package and Technology package. The car is the same as an edition 1 minus carbon ceramic brakes and a few visual differences. The only option I did not get other then ceramic brakes was the upgraded sound system. The upgraded sound system does not play any factor on the exhaust sound.

Because if you did, that will decrease the exhaust sounds in the cabin. That package is standard on an Edition 1.
