HA HA... I think many expect the grill elements to be blacked out too. Its an easy fix with a wrap or plasti dip for those who want to have the all black front.

Yeah your entire lower fascia is blacked out vs the more liberal approach on the W213--- subjective but Im ok with both

I was surprised when I saw on the forums that they are offering anything at all. I follow several new MY German cars and they are all going through this. In the case of the RS3 some 2017 models were delivered after the 2018s made it to customers and those guys got dick for their trouble.
The fact that Mercedes is offering something because of an issue they can't change is pretty cool. The fact that people are complaining even still is not cool.

 

Agreed........but dates and time frames were given when orders were placed. My car was ordered in February with $500 deposit. I made clear that I needed the car by the end of August. Was assured would not be a problem. If this is such an ongoing occurrence delivery date promises should not of been made. I now entertain an email from my dealer every two weeks. My car arrived June 3rd and was told I would be driving it by Month end........and here we are.

I'm betting Mercedes is just as pissed as you are. Some cars have sat so long that the tires are out of round and need immediate replacement.

Hey Everyone,

Sorry as was said on an earlier post my wife has been looking for me ever since LOL. Been really trying to put on as many KM's as possible before the track closes, so I can give you a proper review. Still have another 500km to go but am sure will be able to get to track before the last weekend of Oct.

As it relates to first impressions without being able to go over 4500rpm, WOT and 140km per hour here goes. The car is an absolute monster. Very different then any other AMG I have driven so far. The engine on this one is special. It 100% feels faster off the line than the C63S or GTS up to 4500 RPM that is. I can tell you when I first got it, I was not impressed with the exhaust and felt it was rather quiet even when the valves were open. Yesterday I had a moron that would not let me pass, as my lane was ending and decided to take a more aggressive approach and pass him whether he liked it or not. I have to say when I hit the gas under under more throttle the exhaust started to open up and realized that this car is not quiet as it first led me to believe. It is still more tame than then GTS or C63S in terms of sound, but I have a feeling on WOT this thing will really start to get louder and more aggressive especially in higher RPM's.

The handling on the car is very stiff. I watched all the reviews like everyone else here and will tell you when taking a turn this thing feels like a small sports car as opposed to a large sedan. The car just sticks to the road and the 4matic + really makes the overall handling that much better. Again this all on the road so clearly not going to push it like I would on the track, but overall am blown away at how tight this car feels in the corners and how well it handles in general. I was of the thought that the 4matic + would feel very different and take away the true AMG enthusiasts true passion for this car. I can tell everyone that I was dead wrong as the car feels like RWD until you are about to lose the back end and it just fixes itself and finishes the corners. WOW is all I have to say about the handling on this car.

Apart from that, I can tell everyone with 100% certainty that the wait is worth it. Once you step into this thing and drive it, you will be blown away at how good this car really is.

And how is the suspension ? Many here are are little bit worry about that it will be too hard.

 

I’m really excited for mine, but I have to admit the excitement is a bit tempered by the fact I have a Selenite Grey coming with Night Pack and silver wheels. Anyone wanna trade wheels, lol? Mine is coming any day now.

But the factory black with a substantial discount are over 10k... and I will definitely track it so a solid wheel is needed and I’m not interested in a second set of good wheels because I’ll be as good as close to the factory price anyways... I know I’m whining now so... the end.

 

Cancel the order, your dealer will find another buyer. Then reorder the next available build slot. What’s another 8 months. You’ve waited this long. :-) haha

But seriously I placed my order mid July with a Sept build slot and couldn’t get half the options I wanted so I generously took the GM’s demo and that’s what I’m waiting for...

im sure the 2019 will have the Panamericana Grill like the other 63 models and I’ll put my order in next summer for the following spring I guess. In the meantime I’ll drive the snot out of this one and thats also a big reason I don’t want to get a second set of wheels.

I am at the end of my rope.... Toronto has had delivered cars go out, cars hitting auto trader.... My contact cannot even get an answer on when my car will be shipped.

Something is going on that they are not telling us.

 

That does suck. I'm new to the waiting game as I just put a deposit down. Did you try talking to the sales manager and/or the dealer manager or owner?

 

do you mind tell which dealer is it? I'm in Calgary as well, but I order my car in Toronto, I'm just going to check out some prepaid service at local dealer to see if they have better deal.
