My dealer want $1895 for a wheel/tire and interior protection plan. It cover me for 5 years. How does that compare?

Thats actually a good price, I was quoted well over 2K for just the tire and wheel package and then I found out all it did not cover and just said, nope.

I haven't driven enough to really give any initial impressions. One cool feature I didn't know about is the wireless charging cubby for Qi-enabled phones in the center console. Otherwise just looking forward to taking this beast out more in the next few days and getting past break-in period as soon as possible!

Interior is black leather with gray piping, metal weave trim. (And yes I had both the dealer sticker and license plate frame removed.)

Nicely done! I'm still leaning toward Polar White (+ night package and matte black wheels), but I am definitely thinking about red. As you say though, not so stealthy!

Picked up my car today in Sindelfingen.

Beyond happy and family are super happy as well. They weren't prepared for just how good the designo Selenite Grey Magno looked.

I have the night package and the CF trim, but not the 2nd CF package that wraps the mirrors and spoiler. Very happy with the choice.

Way too much info to process and still trying to figure out the car. Did manage to make it to our first night's stay in France without too much drama.

Stepped on it just a bit to merge in traffic and let it rev to 4500. The family was quite impressed. The general consensus was that they should change the badging from AMG to OMG!

Oh, and one other thing, the car has NFC charging even though it has the CF center console. I was really surprised as the ordering guide said that this wasn't an option with the CF center console.

So, good news for folks looking to go with the CF center console.

There are also some other updates like changes to programs for the interior light configuration and maybe something else. He said there was a refresh recently with some updates.

Congrats! She's a beaut. Did you get it wrapped? I understand that's considered more or less mandatory with the matte finish.

Your vehicle is absolutely gorgeous! How did you like the European delivery? Would you care to share some details of your itinerary? We are planning on doing the ED in May '18 and would love some first hand opinions. Once again, congratulations! (almost makes me want to change from black to matte grey)

I am strongly considering having the front of the car wrapped to protect against stone chips and such.

As for caring for the finish, he told me that if I used a commercial car wash, not to chose any of the wax options, and if I wash the car myself, not to wax it.

He said it requires very little car other than your basic cleaning.

The ED was great. We were originally scheduled to take delivery in the center for excellence, but got bumped at the last minute. They only do two of those per day versus several hundred normal deliveries. I think a frequent flyer picking up a Maybach or something like that caused them to change the schedule.

I was disappointed to be sure, but Mercedes still took very good car of us and made the delivery as special for us as they could given the situation. Even though the delivery took place in the main delivery area, you could tell we were getting some extra TLC. The car also got a lot of stares from people and as we were getting ready to leave, I noticed a number of other people taking photos of the car as we posed in front of the Mercedes star. Likewise as we were driving to the hotel for tonight we noticed a lot of people looking at us. At first I was wondering if I was in a wrong lane or something but eventually realized they were just looking at the car.

We did not choose one of the standard Packages for the hotels and itinerary, but rather worked with Herbert to plan a flexible route that leaves us the option to explore and change our plans if we wanted to spend more or less time in an area along the way. Herbert was great to work with and did a superb job of helping us plan our trip.

Lead time

Ordered my E63S Friday, November 3rd. They tell me building in January with expected delivery in February. Does anyone know if this is realistic? What have you guys seen in lead time?

It would surprise me if this is realistic.
I ordered my car early august and it will probably ble buildt late november with delivery in december (in Norway)

Everything depends on the availability of the different options you ordered.

Assuming they have an open allocation, that timeline is not unreasonable; my local dealer quoted me a January build/Feb delivery as well for US delivery.

finally here but !!!

Car arrived yesterday and received these photos from my SA. Not sure I'm loving the silver. Hopefully it look better in person. Disappointed that the night option looks wrong without the privacy glass and I may have to install tinted film to make it right. What are Mercedes thinking?? Bit underwhelmed.

Just saw a wagon exactly like that at MB Westminster. Yours? I thought it looked great! The wheels and other black bits make it pop, as do the calipers. Also looks just like the spec for the F1 medical car I saw whipping around COTA in Austin a few weeks ago. If the winds bother you get them to tint it before you take delivery, pretty easy and will look even better. Congrats on the ride, please post some impressions when you have it.

I think it looks great. I think the glass is fine. With me I don't like tinted glass, the visibility in this car is not great and tinted makes it worse especially at night. My last car 2012 amg wagon was that color, nice color choice. Once they get all plastic wrap off and get it cleaned up I'm sure you'll love it.

We picked up our wagon on Saturday! We asked the dealer to not do any exterior or interior prep or cleaning to make it easier for our detailer (Colorado Detail) to do their thing (a full wrap including blacking out the chrome strip around the back and the door handles - thanks for the idea Quickburn7!)

We learned a couple of potentially interesting things throughout the order/build process:

The configuration details for the AMG Night package includes a code "U50: Omission heat-insulating dark-tinted glass". We were concerned this could mean AMG Night Package would remove the infrared glass portion of the Acoustic Comfort Package. The dealer tried unsuccessfully for two months to find out what this "U50" code meant. Out of frustration, my husband sent an email to MB USA CEO Dietmar Exler and he had the answer back in two hours that the U50 code just omits dark tinted glass in the rear window to comply with US regulations. (Rear window is tinted in European builds.)

We also got nowhere with our dealer asking about winter rims and tires. Thanks to this forum and specifically bobblehead for the tips leading to the 19" A2134012600 and A2134014600 rim part numbers. The dealer was able to order those part numbers for us. We're going to have those rims powder coated black and fitted with Nokian HK9 255/40R19 studded tires.

Excited to get the car back from from the detailer protected and ready to start driving and enjoying!

Some pictures from yesterday during delivery and loading up the winter rims:

Love the w213 e63, haven't had an AMG since 2006 e55 Kleemann stage 3. What a difference 10 years makes! Just got Xpel Stealth coverage done, can't even tell.

Holy cow... I love that car. I wish I could get that paint on my wagon. And from the pics you can't even see the Xpel. Fantastic. That car will be fun on I-70 up to Eisenhower Tunnel up from Silverthorne.
Cheers

Rear windows are not tinted in european cars with the Acoustic Comfort Package, it's just like driving an aquarium.

Sounds like rear window might be tinted in a European car with AMG Night Package though.
