Expressed frustration to my SA and he made some calls I presume to AMG rep. Said that July release was confirmed. Also got some lease info. For MSRP of 119K was given 5K in dealer concessions for purchase price 114K. For 3yr/30Kmi with $5500 drive off, residual at $68,334.45 with monthly $1775. Sadly, I am probably going to back out. Though the discount was a nice surprise I did some soulsearching and am thinking that this is just too much car for my 7 minute daily commute. Wouldn't use the car much on weekends as we use our GLS for the family. Got a great price on a Cayenne S e-hybrid and though a totally different animal altogether, may be a better fit for me.

2018 E63S AMG
I live about 5 miles from the office, and traffic isn't too bad, so my commute will be fairly short too - shorter with the E63 than with my other cars I guess ;-)
One of the other guys I work with who has a similarly nice sport sedan, and while he lives fairly close, his commute is often much longer because he takes a large detour out to the local mountain roads on many of his morning commutes.
I may follow suit a few days a week . . .

Edition 1
Has anybody worked a deal for their US edition 1 yet. I have a deposit on one and I simply placed the order early to get first in line without working "a deal". Curious to know what discount off MSRP I should go after. Should I expect the 8-10% off MSRP like i usually do on my AMG's or is that unreasonable to expect.

I got the same info. I think MB should compensate the ones that have their cars sitting in the harbour. Mine has been in a yard for 3 months already and I'm worried about the tires flat spotting and the breaks rusting...This has been handled poorly by MB Canada...

I received an update on the delivery today...and it's bad News.
"Hi
Please just advise your staff that there will be a delay on certification of the E63 so please do not make any promises to customers they can’t live up to. We hope it could be fixed sometime in August, but we don’t know right now.
I’m sorry we can’t be any more specific, but that’s all we have right now.
More info as we get it. Thanks.
Merci/Thank you

That sucks. I wonder how many they have in Halifax now. Dozens I bet.
People everywhere have been asking me about my new car and when it's getting here because I am excited to get it and have been talking about it. I don't know what to tell them.
I still feel MB should have sent out one of their demo cars ahead of time to get past the certification sooner. Can't really b*itch to your sales guy about that, but that's how I feel.

From the AMG GT/S/R forum, look towards the bottom and see where they included the E63 along with the GTR for a big delay in the States.

This is direct from my AMG Regional Manager today:
Folks - Unfortunate news on the certification of the E63W4S, GT R, and GT CA. Vehicle launches have been pushed to late August. All release timing is tentative as of right now.
Dealer communication – I will be sending a note early tomorrow morning to all AMG Performance Center dealers stating the wholesale release timing has been pushed from this month to late next month on these.
This is an emissions certification delay. Very unfortunate. Was hoping to get the car up to Pebble Beach in a few weeks.

Jesus. Now I'm glad I didn't put an order in, otherwise I would've been *really* pissed...

I ordered my E63W4S in March '17. It arrived at the port of Baltimore on June 3. The dealer told me delivery was expected in 30 days. In early July I was told mid-July for delivery. Then in mid July I was told 10 more days. On Aug 1 I was told August 15. Things aren't moving. It is waiting for "certification" by the EPA. No telling when it will be released.

Have European delivery set up for 1st week in Nov. Have other business in Europe through the mid to late Oct so couldn't work it out any earlier.
I expect that by the time the car makes it to the US, all the import issues will have been cleared up and I won't see any additional delays.
It's hard enough waiting for the car to be built and the to go pick it up. I can't imagine how hard it must be to know the car is just sitting there in the port already and having to wait for some random delay till some EPA hack is satisfied that enough hoops have been jumped.
Also, hope that the EPA process doesn't end up resulting in some kind of serious detune or ECU mapping that kills the drivability of the car.
I know my motorcycle was pretty messed up on the low speed throttle response just off idle to say 1/4 throttle. Lean out to the point where it stumbled and surged and was generally not fun to ride. Getting a European tune loaded into the ECU fixed it right up.

Hey, I put a down payment on one of these in January and expected invoice date was late may. The car has been sitting at the port in Halifax pending government approval. Every week I'd call to see the progress but MB Canada said there was none. Proceeded to call Transport Canada and they told me MB Canada had not submitted any info yet to get the process started on approving the car...so I have no idea who to believe. I don't know if it's a delay on Transport Canada's side or MB Canada's side. Either way, the latest update is I should receive my car end of August. However, when I went to talk to manager he mentioned (IMO) some bull**** story about an extra 2 week delay...something to do with outdated software regarding emissions. So with that delay...it'll push it to Mid September. I just got the pricing last week. It came out to 135000$+ Taxes CAD with the options I wanted on it
Has anyone else in Canada, in specific Montreal received their 2018 E 63 AMGs? This is annoying this **** out of me...esp that I have an RS5 off warranty when the plan was to trade it in for the 63 and not deal with extra headaches.
