Customer E63 Deliveries - Update please
One of the other guys I work with who has a similarly nice sport sedan, and while he lives fairly close, his commute is often much longer because he takes a large detour out to the local mountain roads on many of his morning commutes.
I may follow suit a few days a week . . .
Thanks.

"Hi
Please just advise your staff that there will be a delay on certification of the E63 so please do not make any promises to customers they can’t live up to. We hope it could be fixed sometime in August, but we don’t know right now.
I’m sorry we can’t be any more specific, but that’s all we have right now.
More info as we get it. Thanks.
Merci/Thank you

People everywhere have been asking me about my new car and when it's getting here because I am excited to get it and have been talking about it. I don't know what to tell them.
I still feel MB should have sent out one of their demo cars ahead of time to get past the certification sooner. Can't really b*itch to your sales guy about that, but that's how I feel.

I added Simons post here:
Folks - Unfortunate news on the certification of the E63W4S, GT R, and GT CA. Vehicle launches have been pushed to late August. All release timing is tentative as of right now.
Dealer communication – I will be sending a note early tomorrow morning to all AMG Performance Center dealers stating the wholesale release timing has been pushed from this month to late next month on these.
This is an emissions certification delay. Very unfortunate. Was hoping to get the car up to Pebble Beach in a few weeks.

I expect that by the time the car makes it to the US, all the import issues will have been cleared up and I won't see any additional delays.
It's hard enough waiting for the car to be built and the to go pick it up. I can't imagine how hard it must be to know the car is just sitting there in the port already and having to wait for some random delay till some EPA hack is satisfied that enough hoops have been jumped.
Also, hope that the EPA process doesn't end up resulting in some kind of serious detune or ECU mapping that kills the drivability of the car.
I know my motorcycle was pretty messed up on the low speed throttle response just off idle to say 1/4 throttle. Lean out to the point where it stumbled and surged and was generally not fun to ride. Getting a European tune loaded into the ECU fixed it right up.
Has anyone else in Canada, in specific Montreal received their 2018 E 63 AMGs? This is annoying this **** out of me...esp that I have an RS5 off warranty when the plan was to trade it in for the 63 and not deal with extra headaches.
