Customer E63 Deliveries - Update please

European Delivery y.
I was set to fly to Germany to pick up my E63s when I received an email from MBUSA that my car might not be available for delivery on the appointed day. I later received an additional email quoting the factory as saying there is a quality hold on all E63 automobiles at this time. MBUSA kindly offered the use of a new 2018 S class for our stay. Has anyone else heard anything about quality holds?

Sorry to hear that. Mine was delivered in Germany on Nov 6 as scheduled despite rumors of a hold coming. The build date was 10/10/17 and the car was fantastic, no issues noted. Would be interested in hearing more about what issue in particular they're seeing.
Just noted an hour ago that the ship left the dock in Bremerhaven bound for the US, so my car will be in the states in a few weeks. We'll see if any kind of a hold happens state side as a result of what you're hearing.
BTW, the E63 felt like a super tanker on some of the small streets and parking garages over there in Germany and nearby countries. An S class isn't that much bigger, but will be tight in places for sure.

Curious. My car was built in early to mid November. Delivery was to be next week. If there’s an issue with the car, I’d much rather have it addressed at the factory.

Yeah, I'd hope any issues were sorted, but tbh I have faith in the MB Warranty. Should be alright, I hope. If not.. Well..

Just watched Parker (Vehicle Virgins) European Delivery video - or not, as it turns out.
The hold is real. Somehow he didn’t get the message and flew all the way to Germany and made it to the delivery center only to learn he wasn’t getting the car. They provided a S 560 loaner.
Bummer for him!
Having just been through the process I know how excited he was, and I can’t imagine how frustrating that must have been.

This really sucks! Seems like cars for the european market is also delayed..
My car should have been through Bremerhaven at the moment, and on the boat to Norway.. It's still in Sindelfingen..
I've booked my flight to Oslo friday december 15 with the plan to get it wrapped up from december 20 to december 22.. And then driving it to Tromsø which is 1800km (1200 miles) north of Oslo on christmas day..
I actually have to be in Tromsø december 28 to do the rear diff oil change before shipping the car on a boat to Longyearbyen where I live. My flight from Tromsø leaves january 1. and I need to be on it..
My dealer had no news today, they didn't even know about the delay..

Todays update was not what I hoped for..
The delay in production for AMG vehicles is caused by problems with AMG brakes, my car was originally scheduled for production in october, then changed to november (caused by human ****up here in Norway).
When the car should have been finished in production it suddently got a new status "Delay in production", and today the delivery date was changed to january 19..
This really sucks!

go fast grocery getter wagon
shortage in brake parts ?
I went thru similar delay (without receiving any explanation in Sept and pushed back to mid Oct) and finally I am getting the car later this week, nearly 8 weeks in delay.

I went for the steel brakes, I can't say for sure but believes it only affects the steel brakes..
I checked it out and it seems like Vehicle Virgins car also has the steel brakes.. This may explain why his car wasn't ready when he arrived to pick it up..

After yesterdays visit at the dealership, they could tell me there is an ongoing campaign for E63 S brakes, this applies to 213289 (and 213089 I guess).
I'm not sure if this applies to all vehicles, just a few or maybe even only the cars currently in production.

E63s
Hi All, I’ve never posted anything on any forums before so hopefully this is the right spot for this. I finally got my E63s yesterday in selenite grey, super excited about it but didn’t come the way I expected. I was hoping it camp with the intelligent package but I was told since I got the performance seats it cancels that package out? Is this true? I’m not sure if I should care or not that the car is missing that package, too late now I guess now that I’ve signed the contract. I’m leasing the car and planning on getting a new one in 2 years. Definitely a sick car and can’t wait to drive it on some dry roads once the snow melts.
