Anyone noticing misalignment in the Hood on their new 213?
On the Passenger side of my new red 213 the gap looks slightly too big, I can see the hinge through the gap and a white sticker on the inside of the pass. Fender. The Drivers side gap looks like about where it should be. I guess the hinge on the passenger side needs to be dropped down a little bit to make it more flush. Anybody else with the issue? I'm surprised QC at Benz did not pick this up unless it got damaged in transit or something. Does not look like anything was repaired though, the nuts that hold the hinge on have no wrench marks on the paint or anything. I was shining a flashlight on the gap, you can see the reflection of the flashlight. It is a fairly gap though surprisingly, Man, I felt like I just bought a used car. I only got one FOB too as the dealer lost the other one. I think this will be the last new car I ever buy. Needs a couple chrome strips on the rear window too, in the sun there are wavy marks under the clear coat that cannot be buffed out with compound. Well, hopefully I'll get all the bugs ironed out with this car soon.

Definitely make them get you a new key, I was told $900+ to replace. I'm attaching a Tile gps tracker to my spare to avoid misplacing it.

My wife lost two FOBs for the Rover and I learned the hard way about that matter... problem with the Tile is it is limited to the range of Bluetooth. It comes in handy when you roam the house for the missing key.
As far as that gap in the seam, that looks too big, but then again, what is the clearance when the hood opens?

I'm having my body shop guy look at it today, the benz dealer I bought the car at does not have a body shop, they sub out to a independent body shop and I don't know anyone there. Yes they are replacing the FOB and mailing it to me in Florida and then I'll have to get it programmed there. For all my inconvenience I insisted they give me a two year maintenance agreement and they did, that's worth 1200 bucks. I looked at the hinges on that side last night under the hood, looks like nothing has been altered, I'm just amazed Benz would let the car out like this, the body QC person should be fired.
Funny you have an issue with a missing FOB, when I was taking delivery I too only had one key. The second one got lost between the dealership and their delivery area. Surprisingly as paperwork was being done and waiting for NYS DMV to allow car to be registered, the second key arrived.
I'll check my hood but I didn't see any issue with my hood being misaligned. I do have an issue with the metal along my metal weave trim on my driver door. It has three or four little dings in it, not sure it's worth the hassle of getting it replaced though.
I’m not gonna worry about the hood. I think some of it is the shape of the hood. The cuts may not be exact is what the really issue is. I think the alignment is ok. I think maybe I was expecting to much perfection for what this car costs.

Ya, I think that will come out. I guess though when you spend this kind of money on a car you expect things to be right. I'm getting through that phase now as i'm growing fond of this car and it's over riding the buyer remorse syndrome I even still had a few days after delivery.
