Lack of Acoustic Comfort Package makes a massive difference!

I took delivery of my E63S today which I bought for my wife. My car has no acoustic comfort package and no performance exhaust (I wanted it but couldn't find one in my color combination with Premium package which also had perf seats).

I was a bit apprehensive about the lack of performance exhaust. Amazingly my initial impression is that this car with no performance exhaust and no acoustic comfort package sounds marginally louder than the car I test drove at the dealer which had acoustic comfort package and sport exhaust (set to loud). It also sounds louder than my F10 M5 with the Eisenmann Sport Full exhaust. I'm very happy with the sound of the standard exhaust (with no acoustic comfort package), although I'm sure I would love the Perf Exhaust even more.

Placebo!!!!!!!!!!!! Congrats!!

Its probably a wash- no PE and no AP which means you hear the same INSIDE with a valveless exhaust. All subjective here but I know that outside of my car (with the AP and PE) the car is very very loud at higher rpms.

I have no doubt the PE would take it to the next level.

Great car BTW. Will post more with pictures during the weekend. I'm so glad I got it now rather than waiting.

Congrats on the new car! How do you feel about the amount of road noise from the tires without the AP?

I have the acoustic comfort package and I find the road and tire noise horrible. It is worse than our GLE63 or even our 2007 Honda Odyssey. It is my biggest complaint about this car.

Do you have the Pirelli tires or the Michelin? My experience is that the Michelins are a lot quieter than the Pirellis. I swapped the Pirelli's out early on my Porsche for this reason.

You're probably just used to quieter cars then. I drive a 911 Turbo S most of the time, and that is pretty loud!

I also have a 1972 911T with a 3.3 liter engine in it. In that car the loudest thing is the intake noise, followed by exhaust. I think maybe I should have gotten the performance exhaust. In my E63S tire and road noise is louder than the engine / exhaust.

Is there any way to check that they actually installed the acoustic comfort package? They failed to delete the badges despite the build sheet and window sticker saying they were deleted.

I feel the same was about the tire noise and I’m used to cars with road noise. I wonder how much louder my car would be without the ACP.
