They are like 20 bucks on ebay. The brand new E300 loaner car I have now has these. Surprised our AMG's don't have them.

They're an option.

I think they look a bit tacky so didn't go for it. Wouldn't hate it if was free, but don't feel compelled to add it. Similar to the illuminated star.

Is that the same as the OEM one? I didn't realize it was so 3D-ish.

Nice, like that one better. Yes, the on the car I have just got a loaner yesterday from the dealer, it's a 2018 E300. Guess it must have had this as a option.

The film on the ebay ones will eventually burn out and the image will get distorted.
Get the OEM ones. The projection is lot more clear and the unit will have a heat sink in the back to help dissipate heat

Do you guys have a part number for this item? I checked at the dealer this morning while waiting for my car to be serviced.

The parts guy had no info about these. He did find a set with the Mercedes star (~$230 for the set), but said without a PN he couldn't get them.

I even showed him the press release for them. But we couldn't find a PN on that.

Don't know part numbers but I have had them on back order since February. He now says available 15th June:

Won't let me post link direct. Google CKM Car Design. They are under Courtesy Lights AMG Logo in the search.

Cheers

Looks cool.

So the eBay ones are $12 a pair, the CKM OEM ones are $127 a pair.

Thank you Rluciano for the part number . My MB dealership is quoting $229 for parts + 1-1.5 hours tech time to install . I chose the logo projection option when I ordered the car but,at around $500 for my MB dealer to install, I am not sure if iI can justify this AMG logo upgrade .

1-1.5 hours to install is way too much.

More like 5 minutes, just installed mine yesterday...

How do they come out? Is there screws near them or do they just pry out and snap in? I might get some of those cheap ebay ones just for kicks, sounds easy enough to swap out even though I know they will not last all that long. Does the wire connector just clip in?

1.5hrs? If it does include 1hr foot massage, it's OK. If not, then they are ripping you off. You open the door, unplug the old one, plug in the new one. 5-15mins maximum.

How does it come out? Take a screwdriver and pry it out? Don't want to break the old one as I may be putting them back in at some point, probably sooner than later in going with the ebay part. I'm gonna check online for the MB part and see if I can get it less. I may just do the drivers door. That way I'd have a spare incase the one I put in goes, theres no right side and left side right? I'd assume you can rotate the unit so the projection is not upside down? Maybe not?

Yeah, there are small plastic, flexible legs holding it in place. Unless you are strong (and as big) as a King Kong, you will pry it out without breaking it.
When I come to pick up parts to my MB Parts shop, these guys can usually help you out doing such easy jobs as a favour.

I'm laughing, lol. !.5 hours labor for one minute labor, lol. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wgUeqCDeGlg#action=share Looks pretty darn easy. Best price I find for the OEM ones is $179.00 online. I'll try the cheap ebay ones, at least they should last a little while and easy enough to swap out again if not.

Dropping my car off for service Friday, will attempt to get a price from them at that time.

[edit] just now tried looking up that part (A 213 820 60 03) online and all of the site were showing it as the Mercedes Star, not the Affalterbach logo.

Want to make sure I'm ordering the right critter.

[edit 2] found a link to a different post which also had a link for ordering:
https://mbworld.org/forums/w213-amg/...ml#post7383799
This MB parts place does show the correct Affalterbach logo being displayed in the photo.

This utube video shows how to remove the stock door-marker lights and replace them with aftermarket LED projection lights. It literally takes about 5 minutes per door to do this modification.
