I doubt in real life the Mercedes would be that far back.

I don’t buy it. The bmw is maybe just a tiny bit faster but not that much faster. It’s really a drivers race.

I’ve driven both a lot and there is no way there is that much of a speed difference. M5 may be a titchy bit faster but that video is about the drivers.

They should have used the M5 Comp. instead, would be even more interesting.

not real. straight line the Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid is a beast with its launch control. Neither BMW or MB can keep up. M5 will also not get way from E63S that easy.

BMW juicing their press car? The e-hybrid Panamera should have walked both of them and most drag races I've seen so far have the Merc and BMW splitting wins about 50/50 depending on driver and conditions.

It’s almost like it’s staged for a m5 win by a huge margin.

Totally. I’ve not seen a single drag race where it was a decisive win like this.

Agree with this statement, possibly even placing the M5 ahead of the E63S 2/3rds of the time. The fact it gapped both cars decisively begs the question of a factory tuned car ala Ferrari.

In reality (most independent tests) Panamera and E63S are not too far apart in power rating, Porsche close to official rating and MB in upper 600 too.
M5 was found to be in mid 600.
Panamera is crazy heavy, weight difference easy negates the small power advantage it may have over the other two.
As far as this particular M5 beating E63, some examples are slower then norm, some are faster (personally owned a E55 that was "slow" , dealer could not find anything so I replaced it with another and that one was better.
Proof is that in almost every race out there, both these cars win alternatively.

Not sure they were all using launch control, probably would make a huge difference. The way they cut the video for the start makes it very hard to tell.

My car is still in for service for said 1/6 misfire CEL. Now needs 5 cold start/drive cycles, of which only two can be done per day. So best case, Wednesday.

I know MB has been advising the dealership on the repairs, but I don't know what specifically has been replaced, if anything, at this point.

Doesn't our cars have cold start every time we leave it for more then 30 minutes?

I guess there's cold start and then there's cold start They probably want the engine to be completely back down to ambient temperature or nearly so.

wow that sucks. The dealer recently wanted me to leave my car off long term to investigate a slight rear end Whine and I said no thanks I’ll live with it. I don’t want all kinds of different people driving my car all around. They wanted to have a bunch of different guys drive my car to listen for the noise. Ya it’s there right around 60 and I’m slightly hard of hearing to from a lot of loud music and motorcycles my whole life. They had already heard the noise while I was there waiting at the dealer. I dunno maybe they thought it was tire noise or something.
