Are 2019s spared from the cylinder 1,6 engine misfire CEL?

We've had our cars enough time to put some miles on them (hit 3k today) and I haven't seen any posts about a 19 with the CEL. Is it safe to say the problem was fixed for 2019 model year? Or did the 2018s not get them until past 5k miles or so?

Mine has a recurring CEL, but it's not misfiring. It's throwing a code for a slight evaporative leak in the fuel system. It's been in for testing three times, software updated twice. Light came back on a couple of days ago, going back in tomorrow for another round.

I had the issue at 700 miles on my 2018, it took them 29 days to fix but now at 7,500 with not further problem.
It seems like they can fix the problem if they want to; I threatened lemon.

What'd they end up doing to your car to fix it?

They replaced fuel injectors.

They also perform ten pages of tests and programming.

And many cold starts with at least three hours between them, and drive tests, and leakdown tests, and, . . .

We were told by someone in the know that the injectors are common across a number of Mercedes models. In my case they swapped the injectors around and recalibrated accordingly. That alone might have been enough to get some value the computer nannies are looking at just under the threshold.

I'm fairly convinced that it was a threshold setting on some sensor or combination of sensors that was all snarfed down tight for emissions purposes. I'd bet a Starbucks or other brew that the fix was simply opening up the window a little on the range of acceptable values. Haven't had a CEL for a while now, at least three or four months.

I generally agree the only point is that I would think that changing threshold setting is dangerous in that it might cause a little more emissions and after the diesel issue I think the EPA is watching the Germans very closely.
They may of changed the threshold for 2019 and that might of been part of the reason for the delay.

I heard of software updates yet my car says that the software is current?

Doesn't look like anyone has the problem on 2019s. Good news!

Start mentioning lemon law and see if that changes anything. Your car is losing too much value to be in the shop 4 times. You should at least be having fun with it. I would start asking for a comparable loaner at least.

Girlfriend bought a 2019 E63S. had it for a week before getting tons of CEL. First it was P0024 B Camshaft Position Timing Over-Advanced or System Performance Bank 2, then P054C Cold Start 'B' Camshaft Position Timing Over-Advanced Bank 2, then all 8 cyclinder misfire codes, and a ton more. All happened out of nowhere on within the same day. Car is still stuck at the dealership in NJ going on 3 weeks already. Still no idea what's wrong with it. They've replaced a few sensors already but haven't resolved the issues. Dealership says that Mercedes is calling the shots and so things go very slowly. I've threatened lemon law but they don't seem to care.

My CEL mysteriously went away after 3 resets. No idea what caused them. Dealer said updated ECU software was supposed to be released in Feb, but nothing so far.

I wonder if this is why I seem to find a lot of used 2018s with <10K miles.

MY2018, 11/17 build.

Had 2 cels early on (under 3000 miles i think). Injectors replaced and 2 software updates later, no problems since - at all. Now at 15000 miles. Dont think cel is the reason why you see 18s on the market.

MBUSA was easy to work with as was the dealer. They helped offset the frustration caused by these issues (and a couple others) with some monetary renumeration. First AMG and MB for me, their customer service is way better than Audi (5 cars
over ~11 years).

I had something happen when I first got the car, don't think it was CEL. It said something about a "malfunction" when I took it in for the 1875 differential oil change the techs were able to confirm it. They said they had no idea what caused it (classic)

Other than that, it's a pretty solid car. Other than some sputtering in S+, and hard downshifts from 2nd to 1st while in S+. I was told by a member here to not drive it in S+ because it's meant for the track. I found it pretty comical. I purchased an E63s AMG. Not a E400. Or a S560. Lol.

My wagon is a 3/18 build. It has 7800 miles now. Not a single problem or CEL at all. I think the only issue that I had was that thing where they had to re-torque the rear bars. It's been flawless so far!

MY17 S63AMG - MBUSA Buyback. MY16 SL63 - Sold MY19 W213 E63s. 2020 W213 E63s Wagon
As of current, this issue has not been resolved. My dealer had 2 W213 E63s buyback this month. Shop foreman is driving one of the buyback until it gets sent back to VPC then to the auction.

MBusa needs to release a new software for the fix.

Watch what happens in the next several weeks when the gasoline mixture changes to warm weather blend. That will be the real test.

3300 miles no issues with the car. So far the car has exceeded my expectations and they were pretty high when ordering the car.
