RENNtech hand held tuner ECU upgrade E63/S Gains: +82 HP & +84 LB-FT

Hello all,

Below is information on the W213 E63/S RENNtech hand held tuner ECU upgrade. By far and away the most easy way to tune your ECU or change it back at anytime by far and away the ONLY company I would trust in ECU tuning for Mercedes.

Gains: +82 HP & +84 LB-FT
Up to 773 HP / 778 LB-FT

These are available for immediate shipment once we receive your VIN . Please contact me for a shipping promotion we are offering at either info@etkms.com or call 1-866-950-7779

Orders can be placed via the website here https://www.euroteckracing.com/produ...er-ecu-upgrade or by phone.

RENNtech HHT (hand held tuner) allows you the unlimited ability to switch between tuned and stock ECU programming and requires no ECU removal!

Our proprietary tuning module stores both the RENNtech tuned file and your vehicles stock file. The module plugs directly into the OBD2 port and delivers the file you choose directly to the ECU. Programming takes only a few minutes and the vehicle can be reflashed at any time as many times as you wish.

RENNtech has been at the forefront of ECU tuning since electronic engine management started to show up in vehicles during the mid 1980s! Our experience, countless hours of in-house research, development and exhaustive testing ensure that our proprietary ECU upgrade offers incredible performance gains and rock solid daily driver reliability.

RENNtech tuning software for Mercedes offers significant gains in horsepower and torque across the vehicle's entire power band. By modifying ignition timing and throttle mapping, optimizing air-to-fuel ratios, increasing the engine's rev limiter and modifying boost mapping for turbo-charged vehicles, RENNtech performance software unleashes the true potential of your Mercedes.

With the proprietary RENNtech ECU Tuning the W213 - E63 AMG S 4MATIC+ gains up to +82 HP and +81LB-FT, based on power numbers measured by RENNtech. Please note that the Mercedes M177 engine performance when measured, obtains higher numbers than rated from factory. The maximum power number reached with the RENNtech ECU Upgrade for the E63 AMG S 4MATIC+ is 773 HP and 778 LB-FT.

Notes:
  • We have found the M177 engine stock performance numbers vary from the baseline figures claimed by Mercedes-Benz. We typically see higher baseline numbers than claimed by the factory.
  • Power gains are calculated based on stock numbers measured by RENNtech. Crank Performance Numbers are calculated with a 14% Drivetrain loss on 4MATIC+ vehicles.
  • Numbers published by MBUSA are an average over a 750rpm range for HP and a 2,000rpm range for TQ. Power gains are calculated based on the peak stock performance measured by RENNtech.
  • Our numbers will be dependent on conditions and fuel quality. 93+ Octane gasoline is mandatory with this Performance Upgrade.

E63 AMG S 4MATIC+ (MY2018+ | S213 | M177 | 4.0L V8 BiTurbo) Modified Performance (at crank):
  • Rated by RENNtech (peak @crank): 773 HP @ 5,600rpm; 778 LB-FT @ 4,400rpm
  • Rated by RENNtech (peak @wheel): 665 whp @ 5,600rpm; 668 wtq @ 4,400rpm
  •
    • Crank Performance Numbers are calculated with a 14% Drivetrain loss on 4MATIC+ vehicles.

Bummer, can't use it with California 91 octane fuel. But, just curious, what was the price?

Of course you can! many have been sold to California, you would just need to specify that, the downside is you will be supplied with a slightly lower power setup as you can imagine.

Neil good to see you here.... I was going to say that 91 octane is not a deal breaker just an hp/tq reducer.

AMR makes one for the 212 AMG but I don't see a hand held programmer for the 213's, must the mail ecu in or custom dyne tune. Looks at the torque gains on the 212 with the hand held, amazing. https://shop.amrperformance.com/prod...includes-tune/

Is this a piggyback or does it flash? Why this over a MyGenius with the Renntech map?

It's a flash. I think this particular box avoids having to use a laptop to download things onto a my Genius is my understanding. It is all just in there from Renntech.

I wish I could get my hands on the hardware so I could extract the logic / private key for the UDS seed/key challenge, as well as the tune map. Open source tuning for all! :P

UDS is an documented protocol

Publishing Mercedes intellectual property against their will? Nope, but MyGenius and Renntech seem to get away with redistributing tools that break that rule/void warranties.

Publishing Renntech’s hard R&D work as public open source? Probably not, and it’d be unethical and ****ed up. However... $3,500 for a tune is M5 tax

I have one, tuned a S550 coupe.

You know there is no reason that these external tuners shouldn't be able to be used on multiple cars.

I don't mean renntech in particular but if you buy one a tune that comes with a my genius, there is zero reason it should be able to work with multiple cars.
Why would I pay good money for a tune and buy a my genius for every car i want to tune.

Robbery at its finest.

I'll open up my mygenius at some point and probe around.

does this ECU flasher not lock to a VIN?

i don’t blame companies for investing $100k+ to crack the encryptions on these cars/research the Bosch ECH map regions/invest in dyno time. You do all of that, then some punk tech kid reverse engineers it and makes it “available to the public” by reselling your map for $99 lol

Both My genius and renntech are locked to a VIN.

I don't mind tuners wanting you to pay for tunes for each car, but making you buy a new tuning device to tune another car is dumb.

there is a “reset” routine for mygenius, but it is backed by fees obviously

The way superchips works is if you revert the vehicle back to the stock tuner with the hand held you can then tune another car with it. If it was like this with the amr hand held I would not hesitate to buy one as I have two cars I drive at different times with the same power train so I could use the tuner between the two cars rather than having to spend 1700 twice. I really question Amrs claim of 100 extra hp also from my V6 motors. That seems almost too good to be true.

Perhaps this is a stupid question, but will the dealer know if you have used this even if the software is re-flashed to stock? Is the ECU keeping a log of the software changes?
As such, then once done, it is a warranty issue if anything happens.

Thanks

I am thinking that the only way that Mercedes knows is because of the stored performance values by the ECU. For example, if factory is 19psi boost and tune got it to 25psi boost, it will be recorded in the ECU. I think the safest bet would be to flash or reset the ECU (probably by removing it from car and doing power drain) after you have changed the setting back to stock.

Yes and no.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unifie...ostic_Services

You see SID $10? Diagnostic Session Control? That is what all OBD-II flashers are doing. Somebody reverse engineered the seed/key logic for Bosch MED17.7.5 ECU, then reverse engineered the checksum algorithm for the transfer of data, then got their hands on a DAMOS/map to understand the values of the stored region on the ECU that relates to boost/timing/fuel/yada yada.

You increment some kind of internal, read only ECU counter when you do a "Programming Session" session followed by a $34 (Request Upload).

If you unplug your computer, you will empty what is in your RAM. If you unplug your computer, you will not erase what is on your "hard drive"

I like the idea of unplugging the car/doing a reset, but... the reality is: Mercedes doesn't want you tuning your car + getting a warranty. They have some kind of counter/incrementor that is like a "hard drive" (aka, in my eyes, invulnerable to lack of power from battery, but I have no proof to back this up)

PM me. I built a MED17.7.5 simulator which acts as our cars ECU and successfully tricks handheld devices to think they just flashed a car (aka unlocking themselves)

Yes, the dealer would definitely know even with a handheld flashed back to stock. It shows up in the ECM the number of times it was reflashed. At least that's how it works with my Chevy truck and the super chips tuner. It shows right on the tuner all the different times and dates I reflashed it. Which at this point after 8 years or so of having the handheld is around 100 times, have reflashed many times with different mods being made to the Chevy Truck. Point is moot with my pickup as the warrantee expired a long time ago. But it really is something to think about with a newer vehicle especially an expensive one like a Benz that is still under warrantee. I may even wait another 3.5 years before I do anything with my car, that was one reason I did not buy the extended warrantee on my Cabriolet because I knew after the warrantee was up and having low mileage on it like I figure it will it will be the perfect car to mod then at that time. 462 HP on my twin turbo V6 Cabriolet is a pleasant thought especially with less weight than a V8 and a nice plush cushy ride.
