RENNtech HHT (hand held tuner) allows you the unlimited ability to switch between tuned and stock ECU programming and requires no ECU removal!
Our proprietary tuning module stores both the RENNtech tuned file and your vehicles stock file. The module plugs directly into the OBD2 port and delivers the file you choose directly to the ECU. Programming takes only a few minutes and the vehicle can be reflashed at any time as many times as you wish.
RENNtech has been at the forefront of ECU tuning since electronic engine management started to show up in vehicles during the mid 1980s! Our experience, countless hours of in-house research, development and exhaustive testing ensure that our proprietary ECU upgrade offers incredible performance gains and rock solid daily driver reliability.
RENNtech tuning software for Mercedes offers significant gains in horsepower and torque across the vehicle's entire power band. By modifying ignition timing and throttle mapping, optimizing air-to-fuel ratios, increasing the engine's rev limiter and modifying boost mapping for turbo-charged vehicles, RENNtech performance software unleashes the true potential of your Mercedes.
With the proprietary RENNtech ECU Tuning the W213 - E63 AMG S 4MATIC+ gains up to +82 HP and +81LB-FT, based on power numbers measured by RENNtech. Please note that the Mercedes M177 engine performance when measured, obtains higher numbers than rated from factory. The maximum power number reached with the RENNtech ECU Upgrade for the E63 AMG S 4MATIC+ is 773 HP and 778 LB-FT.
Notes:
- We have found the M177 engine stock performance numbers vary from the baseline figures claimed by Mercedes-Benz. We typically see higher baseline numbers than claimed by the factory.
- Power gains are calculated based on stock numbers measured by RENNtech. Crank Performance Numbers are calculated with a 14% Drivetrain loss on 4MATIC+ vehicles.
- Numbers published by MBUSA are an average over a 750rpm range for HP and a 2,000rpm range for TQ. Power gains are calculated based on the peak stock performance measured by RENNtech.
- Our numbers will be dependent on conditions and fuel quality. 93+ Octane gasoline is mandatory with this Performance Upgrade.
E63 AMG S 4MATIC+ (MY2018+ | S213 | M177 | 4.0L V8 BiTurbo) Modified Performance (at crank):
- Rated by RENNtech (peak @crank): 773 HP @ 5,600rpm; 778 LB-FT @ 4,400rpm
- Rated by RENNtech (peak @wheel): 665 whp @ 5,600rpm; 668 wtq @ 4,400rpm

Publishing Mercedes intellectual property against their will? Nope, but MyGenius and Renntech seem to get away with redistributing tools that break that rule/void warranties.
Publishing Renntech’s hard R&D work as public open source? Probably not, and it’d be unethical and ****ed up. However... $3,500 for a tune is M5 tax
You know there is no reason that these external tuners shouldn't be able to be used on multiple cars.
I don't mean renntech in particular but if you buy one a tune that comes with a my genius, there is zero reason it should be able to work with multiple cars.
Why would I pay good money for a tune and buy a my genius for every car i want to tune.
Robbery at its finest.
I'll open up my mygenius at some point and probe around.

i don’t blame companies for investing $100k+ to crack the encryptions on these cars/research the Bosch ECH map regions/invest in dyno time. You do all of that, then some punk tech kid reverse engineers it and makes it “available to the public” by reselling your map for $99 lol

I don't mind tuners wanting you to pay for tunes for each car, but making you buy a new tuning device to tune another car is dumb.
There is no reason one mygenius shouldn't work with multiple cars.
As such, then once done, it is a warranty issue if anything happens.
Thanks

You see SID $10? Diagnostic Session Control? That is what all OBD-II flashers are doing. Somebody reverse engineered the seed/key logic for Bosch MED17.7.5 ECU, then reverse engineered the checksum algorithm for the transfer of data, then got their hands on a DAMOS/map to understand the values of the stored region on the ECU that relates to boost/timing/fuel/yada yada.
You increment some kind of internal, read only ECU counter when you do a "Programming Session" session followed by a $34 (Request Upload).
If you unplug your computer, you will empty what is in your RAM. If you unplug your computer, you will not erase what is on your "hard drive"
I like the idea of unplugging the car/doing a reset, but... the reality is: Mercedes doesn't want you tuning your car + getting a warranty. They have some kind of counter/incrementor that is like a "hard drive" (aka, in my eyes, invulnerable to lack of power from battery, but I have no proof to back this up)
