2020 E63S Wagon Lease
My local dealer has a 2020 E63S Wagon for $118,000 on their lot. I’m trying to calculate a lease price. I’m assuming 60% residual is about where it should be. Correct me if I am wrong. Also, what’s a decent percentage to ask off to lower my capitalized cost?
i contacted the dealer and he told me that AMG vehicles never come down in price and the residual is usually very low as AMG cars plummet in value. I call BS based on the used market prices and this forum.

60% for what term? I believe the residual is set by MB. Typically AMGs don't have the most favorable residuals, certainly not in line with the non-AMG versions. Part of that is the fact they are high performance and subject to greater wear and tear. Used market isn't really an indicator as to what those cars actually trade for, anyone can put an ask price on a car. They have access to that information, you do not. Sometimes AMG's are cheaper to buy than lease, I've gone that route a few times. AMG's are not cheap nor are they value propositions, you gotta pay to play.

Yes. Was trying to calculate for 3 year lease. I guess the consensus so far is that AMG vehicles actually do not hold their value. Yikes. Maybe that’s why the Money Factor May be high as well? With the new 2021 coming out, would 8-10% off list price be fair?

It is a tough uphill battle to get to a satisfactory lease on an AMG wagon. The nonnegotiable residual values put you in a hole that is difficult to negotiate back out of...but 10% off is a pretty damn good start! Godspeed.

As a reference in Canada, MB Canada is trying to push out their E63S out the door with a modest delivery credit (about 6% of MSRP) on cash purchase outright + say another 5% dealer side discount. But for leasing and financing, no such delivery credit is giving out at all.

Having a ton of low interest, depreciating assets in the midst of a pandemic and likely recession isn't where companies want to be right now. Cheap money won't last forever, and cash is king.
