Any tips when using launch control?

Hi,
I'm curious what others are using to get the best launch. Do you just stick with the factory 3500rpm or do you bump it up a bit using the right paddle? Traction control on or off etc. Any tips or advice?

Thanks!
J.

i don't think cars that have been updated to latest ECU/TCU/CPC from Xentry/dealer software can do this anymore

they got rid of it because 4k launches were snapping trannies i heard

Hmm, I'm still able to do it on my 2019 and I was at the dealer recently for some warranty work.

Do I have to ask for the latest update or will they do it automatically?

I stick with 3500 launches and get 2.7-2.8 0-60 very consistently

Yes, stage 2 ECU, CPC, methanol injection.

Make sure you turn traction control all the way off not just sport mode

The road I do my 1/4 mile runs on has slight decline to start than level off. Most of my 0-60 are invalid but wanted to share since you get the point. Car is pretty consistent

That must be a riot!! I wish I had to stones to modify the car. I can't afford to fix engine or tranny damage.

I'm in the same boat... in fact, I've never used the launch control. Car is fast enough for me just off the line. This car is probably wasted on me.

If you enjoy the **** out of it, then it's not wasted on you. I don't launch often either, but it doesn't mean I don't enjoy every last HP.

One feature I’m embarrassed I have never tried is drift mode. I’m so focused on 1/4, 1/8, and 0-60 times I never tried rear wheel only.

I daily my car and have had it for about 1.5 years now. Only launched it maybe 4-5x all in 1 day back in May. I kept getting low 3.4's, maybe one 3.39. I did have another passenger adding weight, and I'm running on stock tires which are Pirelli P-Zero's and apparently aren't the best for gripping the road. It was fun, but not much different than just flooring it without launch control (which I do VERY often, almost at every red light LOL). Car is a lot of fun, you don't need to launch it to enjoy it.

Interesting, my car is much more violent on launch using launch control than when you just mash the throttle.

The car never spins the tires when you just mash the throttle other than maybe a bit of slip you can feel. When using launch control the car will leave marks on the ground and the tires can be felt spinning a little - not much but definitely clawing for traction.

Mine is much more violent using launch control as well. Is it fast without it? Of course, but the launch control is astounding.

The difference is building boost using the 3500 RPM launch control versus launching from 0 RPM with no boost.
