Help-Rear squeaking noise

the temp in my area is down to over minus 20 degree for the last couple of days. during this time i run over a speed bump, there is a noticeable squeaking noise from back underneath. it sounds like rubber squeezed. but when i park my car indoor with like 15 degree, there is no noise at all. does anyone here suffer in similar problem? something broken or just low outdoor temp? hope to get some helps.

background info: MY18 sept edition one, 29,000km, never abuse or track, never drive in snow or rain, chassis clean every 5000km.

thanks in advance

Mine (MY18) also has a small squeaky sound too when going over speed bumps of late in cool to cold temp. I now literally slow to a crawl and roll my car over those bumps so no squeaky sound will result.

I asked dealer last month if the sway bar bushing is the issue but he said he does not know unless a tech checks it out on a test drive run.

probably rear sway bar not torqued to spec, common issue on the MY18 models

had same issue with 2019 model
dealer had to replace one of the shock absorbers it appeared to be leaking, as per the shop foreman must have been defective from the factory

I have booked this coming week to have my dealer check the shocks. I will report back their findings.

I had mine in twice for clunking in the rear due to the rear anti-sway bar needing to be re-torqued. Didn't really squeak so much as clunk.

Took it to the selling dealer and they did tighten it and it was OK for a while then started up again. Took it to the dealer nearer my home and they went through the whole rear anti-sway bar and checked everything and torqued to specs. Hasn't made a peep in over two years since.

Thanks for that, looking forwards to getting your report back.

Appreciated, guys. i will definitely take my car to dealer to have a proper check later on. but unfortunately, many imported MB parts were found corona virus on them in warehouse in my area. so all the shops or dealers were shut down for inspection. no due open day yet. hopefully i could put my car back to dealer before chinese new year.

ps i got puncture and curbbed rim by hitting the pithole on the road. has made complain to the government. bad luck so far.

A quick update on my rear squeaky suspension noise. Dealer had my car for 2 days (test driving on rough pavement, speed bumps, etc.) and they believe the rear shocks were the issue. So, they have just order them but it will take about 3 weeks to get to the dealer from Germany. Let's see if these new shocks will fix the issue.

Very surprising the shocks needed replacement already (at just 60,000km) since I don't abuse my car at all.

I see the shocks are around $500 US each. I guess with labor and all, it would be a $1500 US warranty job

thanks for the update. my car has just done over 20,000km on dial and the noise only happened in winter with over -10 degree. and one weired thing is noise out by only 2 wheels running over the speed bump at the same time. there is no nosie at all when single wheel running over. so i suspect my issue is down to anti-roll bar bushings and noise from surely underneath somewhere around rear diff area.

I have noise no matter it’s single or both wheels. I do feel the noise is really coming from the right rear, not so much for the left rear.

i also asked dealer to check on the sway bar bushing and whether it’s torque properly but they did not inform me of any issues from both. So, I assumed they are fine but will ask again when my new shocks come in.

nice one and thanks mate.

a little update. since the spring is coming, the temp is back to over 5 degree during the day. the noise is completely gone but its still worth to take a proper look at the dealer after chinese new year.

Update on mine:

dealer replaced both rear shocks and the service manager took it out to do multiple test runs over big speed bumps and said no more noises. Dealer asked me to report if the issue reoccur ASAP.
