Waiting for my new 2021 E63s

Hi all,

Just joined this forum, and looking forward to hearing from others.

Just ordered a 2021 E63s, a few months ago and hoping to get it sometime in May.

Just wat to get some insight from those that have one and their thoughts.

I got one with the sport seats and we'll been hearing some mixed reviews.

I don't have one yet. Same boat with you. I am waiting for mine to be produced. I was told first 10 days of April for production and May delivery. So far nothing though.

Mine is between Baltimore and Brunswick on the ship. Ordered early November, finished the build on 3/11, shipped about three weeks to the day after that. Scheduled to get to the prot at Brunswick on the morning of 4/12. No idea how long it will take to get to the dealership. I will be glad to report back. Mine has the active multi contour seats with massage so can't offer insight on the sport seats. I hope the process has sped up and you get yours quickly.

Interesting, I have the sport seats, apparently they were out of parts for the contour seats and decided to go with the sport ones.

I'm in Vancouver Canada and we'll fingers crossed it will come soon.

Also got the renntech blow off valves, and a renntech device that opens and closes the valves. A car I test drove, and fml sounded amazing. Here is was 2500 Canadian, so probably 200 USA dollars lol.

Nice and everyone should add on the AMG sports Seats. They look so good compared to the non sport seats.

Still waiting...

Placed an order mid January for an E63S wagon and still no allocation... anybody knows what’s going on or what to expect?

From what I've been told, it's all die to Covid. I'm in Vancouver Canada, for my province 16 or less are coming into the province. Additionally parts are scarce hence why some are getting the sport seats than the normal ones with multi contour. This is the first time I've encountered this ( again due to Covid) and even getting any type of discount was a struggle, which was only 2500.

I assume the combination of unusually low allocation numbers, backlogs from shutdowns, workplace restrictions, shortages of semi conductors/computer chips and delays throughout the delivery chain. It is difficult to imagine how bad the vehicle ordering process has been disrupted, but it is not just Mercedes. Cars being ordered and built here in the States are having the same kind of delays. My car is on a ship just offshore of Brunswick sitting idle because the Port is backlogged with ships making deliveries. Seems every aspect of the process is backlogged and overloaded.

Yeah, I can see how all of that has an impact. Also makes me wonder if I should wait for an E63s wagon e-performance, which might come in the future. The extra 200 ponies might be worth the wait... However, having to wait for an additional 1-2 years doesn’t sound too exciting.

I heard about that and saw some videos on the new C63 which will end up being a 4 cylinder producing over 630 horses.

I wonder if they will do the same to the e class e63

There have been rumblings of an engine change in the E63s in upcoming models. Possibly a smaller 6 or 4 cylinder with an electric engine assist. I'm sure they can produce something as quick or better, but I prefer the sound of the big horsepower V8. I also wouldn't want to wait another year or two either as I'm terribly impatient and getting older by the minute. There also doesn't seem to be a quick solution to the chip shortages so who knows what the next couple years will be like. I'm going with the bird in the hand idea and hoping mine arrives soon. It doesn't cost anything to sit and wait on the order. If you change your mind you can always pass on it once it gets delivered. They are disappearing quickly off autotrader ads and the used ones are holding really good values.

I am reading about a possible E73e in the future. I will jump in if that is the case.

Please don't tell me there is something better on the horizon. I was planning on keeping this one until I kick the bucket or can't drive anymore.

I’m typically not the biggest fan of hybrid technology, but when it’s derived from F1 it might be bit different, ha ha ha.

By the time my lease is up they should have the next generation up and running. I would be happy to go with the hybrid they explain on some of the latest AMG videos.

Mine arrived at the Port of Brunswick early this morning. Spoke with the dealer and they are estimating two to three weeks before it gets put on a truck for transport. Seems excessive, but certainly nothing new.

Dealer told me mine should be released to a carrier within 3-4 days of arrival, that puts it tomorrow or Wednesday. Two to three weeks will be aggravating to say the least.

If you are having accessories added by the VPC, that can add some time, but 2 weeks seems a bit long. I personally experienced 2 days from ship unloading to dealer unloading, but the dealer had a bunch of cars on the boat so the transporter was probably filled with cars to the same destination.

I'm not aware of any accessories needing to be installed at the VPC, but I suppose that doesn't mean there are. Communication has not been forthcoming over the last five months. It has definitely been the worst buying experience I've ever encountered. It eliminates the possibility of ever palcing another custom order with MB. At this point I hope it's like my orders with Titleist. They tell you four weeks and then ship in two. Pretty sure it won't be though.

I'd be on top of the world with that kind of update. Glad your adventure is almost over and hope the car is all you expected and then some.

What seems to be the typical number of weeks, from production build to car landing at US port such as Baltimore?
The build date on my E63 wagon is 4/26, and I am guessing that the car should land in Baltimore by end of May?
