To piggyback on that (no pun intended), are there any that offer a warranty similar to what Dinan did with BMW?
I haven't seen that, but I had heard that RENNtech used to sell through select Mercedes dealerships much like Dinan - it would be hard to consider that RENNtech was modification when its a dealer installed part (don't know this to be true though - just hearsay).
Personally, my thought is that when Steve Dinan sold the company and it moved East, i think their RnD and general quality control took a nosedive. It's just not the same as it used to be - Morgan Hill was like a big race shop that sold a little bit of product.
I've had DME on 2 of my wagons, currently on the 2018. No issues or CEL's. The customer service they've provided me has been great, since I'm kind of a rookie on this subject. On the the 2015 it got rid of the Eco button.
I originally went with Renntech HHT as there is a dealer next to my office. It’s extremely easy to use just plug it into OBD wait 2 mins light turns green and done. I did have one issue but it was resolved supposedly wasn’t caused by the HHT. I loved the simplicity of it, but I am a disappointed as they only offer a stg 1 map, so if you run DP’s they do not offer a second map to get more power. I switched to DME stg 1 with the intention of getting the stg 2 but never made it that far. DME Has great customer service, they walk me through the Mygenuis instructions each time as I am not savy with it. I believe it does pull harder with the DME tune and I got with the additional burble so a few more pops after shifts (nothing crazy). No issues with it at all I only wish it was as simple as the Renntech HHT for install. Maybe I’ll go stage 2 after I hit 30k miles.

i was thinking about renntech because of their reputation and quality but then someone explained all their research is from higher octane gas offered in florida and i will get different performance here in california w/ their tune...
why you guys only got 91 octane over there we have shell v power here 99 octane??
HA, well, that would probably have a cost of about $6.50 a gallon out here! Prices start in/around $4 bucks a gallon and for 91 your knocking on the door of $5 bucks.

Dunno what it is a gallon here about £85 to fill up!

that's a mic drop. The American gallon is 3.78 ltrs. The average price in Europe is about $1.80 USD / liter. So, $6.80 per gallon, or $95 bucks to fill.

£141.3p for a litre in GB apparently, 4.54 ltrs per GB gallon! honestly never look at pump prices just fill up
gas has doubled from same time last year. they say the hack of the gas pipeline is the problem, lol......
gotta love the liberal administration
Don't care either way liberal or conservative, but I gotta say....if a pandemic is a policy to reduce gas prices, I will gladly take $3-$4/gallon not to have one

I can say with definite real-world examples that that would be a false assertion. Mine and one other E63s were status R'ed with dealer installed Renntech. It is safer to have the Rentech done on your own than through the dealer cos there is a record at that time.
Status R simply means all repairs have to be approved by an AMG regional rep. When I say all, I mean ALL. My knob stopped working and took 2 weeks to replace cos the rep had to approve and he was behind and I was status R for a Renntech tune that was dealer installed (this was in 2018 so no covid delays here)
I'll see what I can do but sounds fabulous in Race and its still running the OEM downpipes as you'd expect from Brabus with TUV and warranty. Could probably be a lot louder.
