With the bad/delay news on the '22, how about some more Porsche pictures?

^Thank you for sharing! Makes for a better mood than the car delivery delays!
I am not sure which one the Speedsters is your favorite? It is hard to say which one is my favorite, perhaps the Green?

Believe it or not, my favorite one was my first one... the simplest of the three. The GT Silver Heritage. Sorry to have sold it.

Agree, it's just about perfect. Very nice spec.

True, very nice. This will become the show your Porsche thread!
I have never owned a convertible or even sat in a 991, but the Speedsters looks wonderful.

Why is the front camera properly placed (centered) on the E53S and not on the E63S!?

LOL. Well, apparently someone at MB agreed and moved it for the new 53 grille, which isn't the same as the 63 grill. The 63 grill doesn't have that perimeter trim and appears (or is) larger. For that matter, the whole bumper cover is different, so I kind of doubt we'll be able to simply swap them out, but fingers crossed.

What is the EU certification that they are having difficulty with? I am trying to wrap my head around this news and hope it's not game over for us who have been patiently waiting. Is this just a stop because of a massive chip shortage or is there something else going on?

It's not important but annoying to anyone who's a little crazy about design or has OCD tendencies. I'd like to see the uproar if Mercedes did this on their coveted G-wagon... Kindly ignore my rants.

Decided to get Model S Plaid if Mercedes doesn't open up 2022 E63S orders over the next month or so. Will be sad but necessary to give Tesla a shot. Roughly same price as wagon ~$145k less maintenance and gas. Just need to decide between boring grey or black. Effortless ordering online in a matter minutes. (If I hate it, I'll just give it to my wife.)

Tell me about it, don't get me started on the W223 S-Class front camera placement ... Ya, they weren't trying at all....

^^^This large plastic thing does look rather hideous but probably the lessor of evils considering the technology packed into this car. But where's the camera?

Just count down from the left side and when you are at the 3rd grille piece you can see it : )
In MB's defense, that plastic thing was also on the W222 and I believe it was also off centre. However, it hides itself when it isn't used via a cover hidden in that plastic piece (which I believe is the radar sensor used for distronic) but for the W223 they decided to just let it stick out permanently probably cuz of cost saving measures.

^^^Ah yes, now I see it. Not too bad as I don't see anywhere else obvious to better conceal it. Tech is a big design trade off I guess must be very hard to integrate everything.

Agree with tech being a trade off but I was hoping they could at least cover it when it is not in use like W222, unless they have more stuff under the plastic piece that they don't have room on the W223 for a motor or just because they want to cut cost.
Let's just hope it is the former : )

^^^Your S-class interior looks sublime though. And the interior leather choices make pedestrian E-class buyers salivate. Mercedes only cares to offer suitable interior options for S- and G-class (and maybe other SUVs but I've never bothered to look).

Oh well, I was looking at getting an E to replace my C but looks like I should work harder for an S?
I can't blame MB tho, S and G is basically their flagship so make sense they reserve the best for those customers although I can't say E buyers are making them any less profit. I read an article saying E63s wagon buyers are the richest MB customers... Not S, Not G, but E63s specifically wagon.
Either way, 2022 E is not a bad car, so enjoy yours once it gets here hopefully it isn't a long wait

^^^I think it's a high probability that there will be a 2022 E63S.

Even if they open up the interior options for AMG only. Doesn't make a lot of sense to have similarly priced vehicles commanding dramatically different interior options.

Thank you!

Yup, heard the E73 (with the hybrid tech) is coming out guess that is something we can look forward to, best from AMG until they go full on electric. The GT 73 is likely going to come out first before E 73 though.

You have a point although unrelated yet related: idk what MB and AMG is going to do with the "extra" cars in the lineup, they are so similar. First they had a CLS, that is fine cuz that vehicle was why Porsche came up with the Panamera to compete. Now we have the GT 4 door but at the same time the E63. Although very different price points of a very similar car? (imo)

CLS is going away in a couple of years if not sooner. GT 63 is different under the skin from the E 63. GT is a much better high speed platform, just look at the Nurburgring lap times. We are coming to the point where the V8 powered AMG's will be built in much reduced numbers. I think the GT would survive and the E 63 go away.

For sure, it will be inevitable that the V8 will slowly go away, hopefully it will stay for a little longer. If not E63 might still be a thing in a couple of years from now but in 6 or 4 cylinder form while GT 63 might still keep the V8, depends on how much worse European regulations will get and how well Mercedes and AMG controls their fleet emission average to avoid the hefty fines. Last year, they were at 138 g/km I think according to an article when the allowed limit was 90.

Bad news. All 2022 orders are cancelled. Not delayed. Cancelled. Likely due to no emission certification. Took nearly two months to get approved color. Now they're offering 2022 E450 as replacement. Ugh.

Might not be so bad. At least the front camera in the grill will be centered.
