Im glad Im not the only one. Currently on my second w213 with the black ash after having several gloss carbon trim AMGs prior. I will go back to carbon once its matte finish and an option on the next e class. Its already made its way into the GT and a few other AMG chassis.

Yeh one cannot go wrong with the natural black ash trim. Tortured myself over this decision. If I were doing a black interior this was by far my first choice. BTW I tried to option a G-wagon interior trim and MB didn't oblige.

^^^This is a very good guess! Love this green. It was considered but in the end it came down to Brewster Green (I prefer non-metallics), Dunkleblau (a classic MB color) and my third choice. I went with the third choice, a classic non-metallic Porsche color.

I have nearly a dozen paint samples, including all the greens from the G-wagon. If I were building a G-wagon my easy choice would've been the designo matte green. However, in the end, I didn't want a full on green for the wagon.

In the end, I'm just a touch nervous about my inability to change from the nut brown interior but fairly confident it'll work with my exterior color. Only time will tell.

I have a strong feeling somebody will guess my exterior color based on my subtle hints in this thread.

Lol not exactly. Lovely color and getting warmer. My pick even precedes Sepia I believe. One more hint: it has a hint of green. Last hint as this one gives it away.

While that color looks fantastic on a small sports car, I don't think that having a large wagon painted in the same color would have a similar pop.

OCD, what about the macchiato beige interior? Don’t believe Ive seen you mention that as an option and sounds like it might suit your color choice?

^^^I love that beige interior with the black alcantara headliner! Very rich looking. However, I ruled it out because it just doesn't wear well looking at pre-owned cars as a reference. I have kids and dogs. Also, I have a similar interior in a 2012 RR Autobiography that's now totally trashed.

I ruled out black because I'm not into piping and particularly don't like how they have stitching and piping together. I also don't care for the alcantara seat accents.

Thankfully I love the brown and appreciate no deviated stitching. (And I'm a total sucker for grey and brown! Hint, hint.)

Deviated stitching? Not following the argument. Where? AFAIK, the seats all have Alcantara on the seating surfaces along with the leather. Are there different configurations with other colors?

HBerman, I'm referring to the deviated silver stitching or the yellow stitching on the black or grey seats.

The brown and beige leather options do not have the alcantara, they are all leather. The black and the grey leather options have the alcantara trim in the seats on the base and the back.

Igooz, black is the ULTIMATE classic color. Did you go with silver exterior trim or the night package?

I love (solid) black cars, and I have other black cars. So that was a no brainer.

On the exterior, I went with black trim as the chrome is chromated plastic and it flakes over time. So I didn't want to deal with that again as I tend to keep cars for a long time and not put many miles on them. So they all age out. This stuff is not real chrome as in polished aluminum, or chrome steel, or polished stainless, it is just plastic with (fake) chrome.

On the interior, I did the nut brown with the high gloss ash brown since it is a darker brown, and "makes" the nut brown look a little bit more brown. Nut brown is a marginal (real) brown to me and under some lighting conditions it looks really light which I dislike.

The only thing(s) that I need to complete are new BBS wheels, and some sort of exhaust as it is a boring quiet car. The reason we buy these cars are to stimulate the senses: speed, sound, smell, and vibration. This car checks the box on speed and can use help on sound.

Yes precisely. I like that combo too but have 3 little ones aged 3-8 so there’s no way.

Thought I knew what the exterior color was but you threw me off with “hint of green.” Not sure what vintage Porsche grey has a hint of green in it, but perhaps Heron or Stone grey. Dolphin and Fashion are more neutral in their greyness. I would consider a hint of green to be Radium green or Auratium green. 🤷🏻‍♂️ My 356 is Light Ivory.

I'm so in love with Fashion Grey. Actually considering it right now for a Targa GTS or Turbo S cab build. So many colors not suitable for the big tank of a wagon, and I'd venture to guess this is one of them.

Igooz, that sounds like a perfect build to me. I'm actually thinking about switching to the dark glossy wood for this exact rationale. And I agree about the nut brown. It's a shame MB doesn't offer a richer, truer brown but beggars can't be choosers and it's nice they at least have one on offer.

I've been working with BBS on wheels but have run into a dead end and none fit. As you know proper fitment is everything. Please let me know when/if you find something that works.

As far as exhaust, I don't want a loud wagon. I have other cars for this purpose and grow tired of them. This is a sleeper and I find the exhaust note rather perfect on the wagon. Not too soft and not too loud.

Thanks for showing me the difference in the seating surfaces between the different seat colors. I've had zero issues with the alcantara fabric on my black,/silver interior. I had considered the Nut Brown interior for my current build but I could not deal with the arbitrary two tone arrangement on the doors and dash. I've seen better color coordination on a Honda Accord. Also, I love my carbon fiber trim and it just doesn't go with the Nut Brown IMO. I did like it on the light beige interior where the door panels complemented the trim.
