The Best of Mercedes & AMG
originally that is what was planned. MB needs to get off this cancel culture crap, I want my V8!!
Moving from my standard black to Selenite Grey Magno, my 18 year old says I’ll love it (if not he will).
Only 67 ‘21 sedans available in US per Patrick so had to move quickly. He really stepped up to make it happen.

OCD, I'll forever kick myself for not grabbing this one that you posted, 95% of what I wanted to order: https://mbworld.org/forums/w213-amg/...available.html
I spoke to my dealer last night and my MY22 order is still in the system but he had his doubts as well. Fingers crossed. Asked him to keep looking for available 21's but slim chance anyone will give him one. Final option is to just keep waiting for the E73, which who knows if it will ever materialize, but I think there's a reasonable chance they'll accelerate the switch to hybrid if all this emission certification stuff is true. Otherwise they have a large investment (in the 213 platform) and plenty of sales that would go to waste. There's also quite a bit of evidence that they were headed in that direction anyway (see RBR video above).
I haven’t had a car without ceramics in a long time but we’re probably making a bigger deal than it really is for this wagon. The weight is the biggest factor in my mind, followed by no brake dust (Oh and looks lol. But even on the larger ceramics, the rear brakes on the AMG looked awkwardly small. Also, the sizes of the rotors are roughly the same between steels and ceramics. I actually prefer the reds (without the obnoxious “CARBON CERAMIC” labeling). The wagon is already so big and heavy so I’m not sure it’ll make a noticeable difference in handling. Stopping power is probably quite similar under normal street usage. I hope as the ceramics on my 2021 felt incredible. The pedal feel and stopping power were equally amazing. Also, for a daily driver the steels are better in at least two ways… they perform well when wet and/or cold. The ceramics take a while to adopt to these conditions (especially cold temps) and can be unsafe at times, especially in the winter months if you live in a cold climate. Also, ceramic rotors can be destroyed when chipped. I’m in CT and the roads are a mess in the winter. Salt and rocks generously applied to the roads all winter. Was very worried about the ceramics lasting though a few winters.
I am a wheel nut. I typically have 3-4 sets in my garage at all times as I like to change the look every couple months. As long as my wheels are clean I really don’t care how dirty the car is, haha. Now to brake dust. Upon delivery just take your wheels off and meticulously apply a ceramic coating. I like to do this myself because I know few people will do such a good job. I apply two coatings. With the proper prep, brake dust should just wash away as long as you don’t let it go more than a few weeks per cleanings. Think about all the years you’ve driven cars without ceramic brakes. Don’t hold out for the ‘perfect’ build. If one comes along you can always sell/buy. Good luck on your search!

One of the things I love about about the E63 wagon is that it is a sleeper. The RS6 looks like the bat mobile. It’s huge.
Haven’t had an Audi that I didn’t lose my shirt on. Wouldn’t even consider one based on my previous experience.
To each his own though…
Believe it or not, the size of the RS6 Avant and the E63 wagon are nearly identical. To me the Mercedes looks much larger. Who knows. I’m in the minority and preferred the pre-facelift front-end as it seemed cleaner and more classic (less agressive). One thing that I didn’t like about my 2021 wagon is that it felt really large to drive relative to my wife’s 2013 E350 wagon. The front-end feels really big… like SUV big. Felt hard to see over the hood. Now I know I’ll get used to this over time. The E63 could really benefit from all-wheel steering, and I’m surprised MB hasn’t already adopted this glorious technology.
Other than the giant 22” wheels and rear diffuser, I really love the look of the Audi. Inside and out. My first step would be to replace the obnoxious 22s with more modest 21” BBS or maybe some HREs. The Audi looks amazing in every single color. Also, I prefer the understated interior of the Audi and love the cognac leather.
Can’t really comment on depreciation as I’m used to losing a lot of money on most all cars (well, except Porsche GT cars maybe).

Did you read this article? The only interior worse than in the RS6 is in the BMW's straight out of the early 2000's without modern design. Lots of mechanical buttons if you like that sort of thing.
