My 2022 Build

Plan is to get M5 CS, Tesla S Plaid and another wagon (but not my build), and keep my favorite forever. Lol
I expect we will see E63 production resume sometime in the next 6-8 months, either as 2022 or early 2023 models. MB handing this profitable market to BMW and Porsche for the next two years? I don’t see it. And the MB V8 is not dead; the upcoming SL and G 4x4 thing will have it, and most likely the next GT coupe as well, not to mention more versions of new S, existing G models, etc.
To my knowledge, per the MB press release, production has been “suspended”, not canceled.

The Best of Mercedes & AMG

The transmission is smooth as molasses. No more dual clutch so I'm sure the AMG is better in manual mode but the AMG can't match BMW's in automatic mode. Smooth and effortlessly fast. (Why they didn't tune the M5 Comp this way is beyond me.) The ceramic brakes are the most effortless I've ever felt for a large sedan. This car is SICK. I want to hate BMW for what they've done with designs as of late plus M everything mentality but this car's drawn me back in. The wagon is obviously more practical in every way but doesn't have the finesse of the M5.
The bucket seats are pretty amazing. Easy in and out, unlike Porsche GT cars I'm used to. They couldn't really be more supportive. The adjustments are just enough to properly cradle the driver without being overly harsh.
The BMW's electronics are more satisfying to use, including the user interface. Simple. iDrive?
I'm awaiting my new wagon and will be fun to compare them together for a few months before selling one.
Aesthetically, I prefer the AMG wagon's exterior and BMW's interior.
I only have a couple hundred miles on the clock and haven't pushed it much so take my initial impressions with a grain of salt. For now I could only wish this were a wagon and with normal seats for greater ease of use. The M5 isn't much of a sleeper. Will report back in a few weeks.

I was waiting to buy the F90 when the CS came out. I am sure it is fantastic driver - but the gold trim and silly seats are a deal breaker. I ordered an individual competition instead.

BMW should've optioned standard seats. However, these are about as good as they get when it comes to seats. I wish they built this car in a non-metallic black. Will share some decent pictures after I properly detail the car. Just took factory plastic off. BMW does a great job with this protecting most every surface.

HBerman: A fool and his money shall soon part. Thing is with some of these cars right now you can basically sell for MSRP with a few thousand miles on the clock. As long as you don't pay over it shouldn't be a big problem. This will come to an end but who knows when. Kind of going a little crazy right now because these models may be the last of an era. I was a total idiot letting dealer buy back my wagon for $125k ($145k sticker with 600 miles). Just never suspected end of production right soon after 2022 was announced.
